Mark Carney has been hiding. He recently “paused” his campaign — claiming he had to deal with President Trump — but nothing came of it. The truth is, Carney isn’t cut out for this. He’s not likable, he avoids working Canadians, and he absolutely hates being asked real questions about his wealth, ideology, Net Zero agenda, or his deep ties to the Chinese Communist regime.

I was 100% behind PP because I believe in much of his policy positions. And I actually don't mind his mannerisms. And while I had high hopes for Trudeau in early days simply for having a positive vibe, time proved he was simply not knowledgable enough to run something as complex as a country! And I've got a long history with the PC party so never voted liberal before Trudeau.

But tbh, I think the right man for the complex financial times ahead with Trump creating such uncertainty, is indeed Carney.

There is a plausible rumour that the sudden drop in US Bond prices was caused by Canada, France, Japan, GB etc selling off enough US Bonds to rattle the market ..and Trump. And guess who is reported to have orchestrated it? Carney has exactly the economic chops, both practical and speaking from a position of wisdom and respect to outmanouever Trump's crude tarriff boondoggle.

Let's face it, in rough terms the country is and will always be divided into say 40% Lib, 40% Con, 10% NDP and 10% undecided. So regardless of who wins, more than half of society will be unhappy with the winner. So why not try an actual expert in global economics to manage our affairs for a few years. I don't see him as much of a politically idealized leftie or rightie so I think he can probably consider many suggestions without prejudice.

And I think he is suave enough to schmooze Trump, tactic enough not to offend him and globally respected in high finance such that Trump will be both in awe of him and want to be associated positively with Carney... and scared shitless enough to know that Carney already knows what dirt Putin/Russia has on Trump through Carney's interactions with those who know.

All my local MP candidates are duds so can't give that any weight.

So yeah, I like PP, figured he'd win, would muddle his way through gettig stuff done with more effort than he might expend politicking. Not ideal, but Trudeau proved incapable of both managing and leading the country.

Yeah, I'll go for the nerd who knows judo!

I may ask Carney for investing advice and how to set up a tax shelter in the Cayman Islands, but I don't want him running this country.
That's exactly who I want running this country! Especially now. I WANT someone with the financial and global economic acumen to figure out the best way to get our house in order.

And if he does indeed know how Canadian tax laws can be circmvented, he can pass laws , then direct and resource the CRA to capture that tax here before it goes offshore.
