I'm still pissed that Sting played the halftime show at the NBA All-Star Game. Drake should have done it with this Legend of Canadian music.

I was trying to be civil.
I liked Maestro actually; a lot of that late 80s/early 90s scene had some merit (Young MC, Ice-T, Rob Base, etc). Today, not so much.
That music tree is weird CA, I don't like Coldplay. And Ludwig Van is still around today, he goes by the name Elton John. If you take out the vocals and just listen to the piano, Ludwig Van comes through loud and clear.
I'm not a fan or a hater, but this purely from observation:
He is not a gangsta, thug or has shot anyone.
He's marketable because of that.
His lyrics are not misoganistic.
He's bi-racial (cross-over appeal to other nationalities).
He seems pretty level headed and humble.
Most of all, he's Canadian.

Agreed. God knows that is certainly worth something when stacked against his 'peers'.
No arguments here. You certainly have the stuff when you can get Brie Larson bopping to your song - she gave the best performance by an actress this century. Just my op.

Hip Hop did strike a nerve in the late 80's/early 90's but with the new century it became a caricature of it's former glory.

I just can't get into Drake as an artist... completely just don't understand the appeal, and I'm into pretty much everything. But he has been a good spokesman for Toronto, I can't deny that.
