Why Strip Club Seats are a Hotspot for Bedbugs

It is increasingly evident that the seats in some strip clubs pose a significant risk for exposure to bedbugs. These clubs, often heavily trafficked by a diverse crowd and frequented by individuals who may unknowingly carry these pests, create an ideal environment for bedbugs to thrive and spread. The seating, often upholstered with fabric that is difficult to clean thoroughly, provides countless tiny crevices where bedbugs can hide undetected.

Strip clubs experience high turnover rates of guests, many of whom come directly from other venues or travel from different locations. This constant influx increases the likelihood that bedbugs hitch a ride on clothing then settle into the seats. Furthermore, the dim lighting and crowded conditions make it easy for these pests to remain unnoticed by both patrons and staff.

Reports and investigations have revealed that some strip clubs have struggled with bedbug infestations, with some areas being hotspots due to their hard-to-sanitize furnishings. Given these factors, it is very likely that sitting in a seat at certain strip clubs carries a substantial risk of encountering bedbugs, making caution and awareness essential for anyone considering these spots.

Experienced this yourself or someone you know? Got a link to the reports you mentioned.

Sounds sorta like it might come from a warmer climate, like southern us?

Might be bed bugs in a strip club , but it has never been an issue for me.

And I have expereinced bed bugs.
1999-2003 we were living in sub-tropical Brisbane.
No AC
Winter 6C low, 21 high.
Summer 24 low, 46 high at noon
Bugs of all sorts thrived there.

We would use a thick plastic bag sealing it over the matress, in a bag with a zip lock made for just that purpose.
And set it out in the Queensland sunlight for a few hours each side.

Sunlight there is way bright and hot.
Turn the matress over after three hours and by end of the day the treatment was done.
Vaccuum the mattress and put clean linens back on it.

But it was sub-tropical and so in 6-8 weeks rinse and repeat.
When the little red bite marks start on your body again

When I'm at a spa, or an incall, I try to hang my clothing on a wall hook or coat rack, if provided, rather than on upholstered furniture.

Have to admit I'm even kind of nervous about movie theatres, so thank goodness there's not much to see these days...

I never thought about this. People think it's only low end places that have this problem but I know someone who got bed bugs from 4 and 5 star hotels. Their work put them up in hotels all the time in different cities because he was a pilot. They're the cleanest people you'd ever meet and they ended up with bed bugs. They think it came in through his suitcase.

Also, if you lose something in a VIP couch just assume it's gone forever. If it's your car keys just burn your car in the lot when you leave. It really is the better choice.

Never leave an open suitcase on the floor of a hotel. It's an absolute invitation to bedbugs. Keep all clothing hung up or in drawers.

Thanks for this thread. Of all the things I consider that I might catch in the back room, bed bugs wasn't one of them...:eek::eek:

Thanks a lot, now another damn thing to worry about.
It's getting to the point that it's hardly worth chasing pussy anymore.
Maybe start taking in a drop-sheet to toss over the seat. ;-)
