Will outcalls be safer with Bill C36?

I keep hearing how the police wont enforce it as they dont have the budget to do so. How do they manage to do it in the states? There crime rates are much higher than ours yet they still manage to bust escorts and johns.
Canada is less prude than the U.S.A

Keep in mind the US is a big country with plenty of jurisdictions some more lax then others when it comes to enforcing certain laws.

I'm sure in some bible belt states Prostitution laws are agressively enforced but in some more liberal states the cops only do anything if they are getting complaints similar to here

If you're single, why would outcall to your home with a regular provider be riskiest?
I can't imagine why this would be safer than the alternatives (incall, hotel outcall). Visit an incall under an assumed name, and once you leave, there is (presumably) little to have placed you there. Once you have had someone to your home - that fact can never be erased. Any agency records, witness accounts, nosy neighbours, etc etc. can all be used against you at any time later.

If frightened of incalls (lol), book an outcall to a hotel. Same outcome; different venue.

I get around.
Agencies should hire Paid Duty officers to guard their incall locations, because then the cops will stand around and do nothing all day.
Win/win situation.

I'm just going to continue booking outcalls with the same indies and agencies that have been providing great service, and am not going to allow Harper and MacKay to determine the activities I engage in with consenting adults. Maybe the 'risk' of C-36 will add to the thrill of the session, like when you're a teenager having sex at the girls house and don't know when her parents will come home.

Do you know how much time & $$$ & undercover work that would take? Have you spoke with enforcement? Higher ups? Have you seen more cops hired? Budgets increase?

I have. Trafficking is their priority. Budget cuts. Minimal resources. And many that haven't a clue what c36 even is. And no, I don't mean just street cops. I mean their bosses. And their bosses boss. And morality. And sex crimes. And and and.

Body rub parlors sell bodyrubs. Adult entertainment centers sell adult entertainment. That is all.
I have chatted with detectives, but no higher than local division leads. Most of my relations are political. c36 has made for some interesting conversation on the dinner and cocktail circuit this season.

Your first statement implies that the baseline for enforcement is zero, which of course it isn't. Even with Blairs announcement of a flatline budget, money already exists. trafficking exists in all areas of the industry, including spas and clubs.

If "all" that bodyrubs and clubs sell were so clearly safe from C36, I wonder why they're so actively against it?

legit services aside, we all know that more can be found at spas and clubs, off the menu...

I agree with you that police will not sit back quietly as many believe but for God's sake why has sex become so taboo again?? Why should anyone care if two adults are having consensual sex?

It's the result of electing a socially repressed oil lobbyist as prime minister.

Good question. This is an incredibly complex issue that ultimately lies in hypocrisy at all levels, on both sides of the debate.

But, to skim the surface of the chasm, the premise of your question is that all sex work is consensual. Obviously, the neither the Conservatives nor the Liberals agree with that view.

I've quite vocally expressed that my opposition to c36 & activism surrounding it is because of my experiences as a sex worker. I've never been a street worker, but I certainly would go to bat for their rights! What really set me into high gear was the refusal of the gov to listen to current sex workers, Linda Frum's statement that she has heard no "uplifting" stories of sex work, and the complete sexism laced thru the bill. I no longer identify as a feminist, I'm disgusted by what that has become!

No, Dear Lady, you ARE a feminist. I am also a feminist, and a man, at the same time. You and I believe in women's rights. You are NOT a femi-nazi.
Touché!

This. Anyone who voted conservative should hold their head in shame.
You're right. We should have rewarded the Liberal arrogance in the Chretien era.
