Where do I justify his action? I said I don't like the slap but I don't like the joke either. I also said you dont laugh at médical condition. It's just getting ridiculous. Jada did nothing. Chris knew about Jada. Will is a dick. I am done with you guys lol you guys just don't like any sort of opposition by a women. Many men understood what I was saying and agreed. Yet you guys attack me and don't offer any oppositionto them. Yall got work on yourself to do on yourselves.
Chris Rock is saying he didn't know about Jada's medical condition. I didn't know about it. I'm sure a lot of folks didn't know about it.
It is a distasteful joke, but it isn't the first or the last distasteful joke that will ever be said. Comedians have pushed boundaries for years. Have you ever watched a roast?
Will Smith completely overreacted. And he did so because of the weird dynamics going on in his relationship with Jada. In doing so he really damaged his character and persona. He also showed everyone just how detached Hollywood is from reality. Which is why nobody watches these shows anymore.

Yeah it seems that he came clear about it recently. At least it was unwanted.

Too many posts to read. So, at the risk of repeating what someone may have already said.

1) Do not disrespect my woman. Repeat, do not disrespect my woman.

2) Alopecia is a racist and sexist disease as it affects mostly women of color.

Unbelievable! Some people are calling this battery and/or assault. I've been in physical confrontations when I was in uni that were far far worse than a gentle tap on the cheek.

By law it's assault. This point is not in dispute.
California law states that it is misdemeanor battery. Although most likely Smith would not be convicted.

How can a disease be racist and/or sexist? Does it independently choose who it will hurt? Does a disease have free will?

Maybe the blonde hair gene is also racist. It never affects black people.

I posted earlier that I had it. I am neither black, nor a woman.

Thanks for your valued input.

"Many women — particularly Black women — live with alopecia
Jada Pinkett Smith's condition is familiar to many women. According to Harvard Medical School, about 1/3 of all women experience alopecia, or hair loss, at some point in their lives; Johns Hopkins has reported that almost half of all Black women have experienced some form of hair loss."

Maybe alopecia is virtue signalling, like you like to do.

Smith has a god complex, and totally derailed the evening, putting all the other winners in the shadows. Jada shopuld wear a wig if she is so sensitive about her "condition". He should be banished from the Oscars for 3 years. A stunt like that can't go unpunished. Insult comics have been part of Hollywood culture since Don Rickles.

How about Groucho Marx? He loved insulting people.

The sad part, the Smith's stark raving narcissism took the spotlight away from Liza Minelli. No one is talking about her, The Academy should go to the penalty box and feel shame for not acclaiming Cabaret.

It had to go up against The Godfather, any other year it would have been Best Picture.

So before the Oscars Jada said she don’t give a rats ass what people think of her bald head. So why the freak out over a Paralleling joke about strong bald women?

Clearly they both over reacted. She wants her cake and to eat it too. She wants to be strong and not care as well as be able to make monks jokes about bald heads, join the Bald Boss Movement and still be able to be pissed off at Rocks joke. Umm no sweetie. Just no.
