Does anyone know where I can get a copy of win 98 ? I use WinXP Pro on my 3 systems but I'd like to use Win98 on a little system I'm puting together for a 5 year old as alot of the software games he likes are not XP compatible. For some reason I can't find my Win98 disks (found my 3 keys but no disks).....anyone help??

older version of windows

You should not have to install win 98, if you have xp, you can use the emulator within XP to run any programs from earlier versions of widows. When you install the program or use the Program Compatibility Wizard to select the opearting platform you want for the program, this enables you to run just about any older program on XP.

Thanks jhonny, but I tossed together a PIII 733 with a 20gig HD and an ATI AIW 128. He (5yr old) has 50+ games, most of which are not XP compatible and the fact they still use win98 in his grade one class makes me think for now win98 would be an easier choice for him. I also don't want to buy a copy of XP ( I already have 3) for this system.
Still seeking win98.....

You can go down to the computer stores at College and Spadina and try to find a copy, one of the stores is bound to have one. Otherwise, you could always download a win98 disk image from www.edonkey.com

way out in left field
I tried to buy a copy of win98 last year (at this time) and found that for 20 bucks more i could get XP.

A lot of gamers etc still want win 98 so the price is still quite high.

If you don't have any luck downtown let me know. I think I have a copy floating around here somewhere. Unfortunately I am out the door right now. I will look later if you still need it.

What's even funnier is that canucklehead just admitted, in writing, in a public forum, that he is breaching a major copywrite law lol.

Anyhow SBI had win98 for sale for $139.00.

Here's their site:
