The Live CD option Linux offers is amazing.

Plus you also have the option to put an entire Linux distro on a USB Flash drive.
Then plug that drive into any PC and run Linux off that drive with no changes made to the PC. It's smaller than a netbook and you can carry your PC on a key chain.

The sign in the store is there because people are stupid enough to think that a netbook is just a "small" laptop. It isn't - the processing power and such as reduced as well. I can imagine plenty of idiots in a hurry not understanding this very basic concept.

So Windows isn't killing netbooks, it's the public's perception that is killing them.

Exactly.
For surfing the web and doing light duty stuff, which probably is what most do ~85% of the time, Netbooks are great. I just prefer a bigger KB & screen.

If I got one XP would be replaced with Linux...;)
