I want to set up my computer so when I boot up or when my computer is idle for a certain period of time the Windows login screen will appear, prompting a password for access to the computer. I had this for my previous Win XP install and I've got the login screen set up (I can hit ALT-L to bring it up) but it isn't automatically popping up after a set period of inactivity. How can I change that?

You could turn on your screen saver and password protect on resume.

I might have found the answer. In Control Panel > Display > Screen Saver there's a tickey-box to activate password protection upon activation of the screen saver. That may be what I'm looking for. We'll see...

Well, it gives me a popup login box with username and password like I have at work but I'm looking for the Windows Login screen that you get upon startup...

The Windows login screen will appear while no user is logged in. The other popup shows up when a user is logged in (although, IIRC, you can log in another user from that popup).
