Ok, I'm tired of being shy. I've decided to do something about it. I have decided to attend a Toastmasters meeting in the near future:) .

I'm hoping that by going to TM's that this will help my confidence with sps.

Squash before TM's when he see's an SP---"um is it ok if I do so and so to you" in a real shy voice. The sp's thoughts, "can't wait to get rid of this loser."--- lol

Squash after going to a couple of TM meetings and then meeting up with an sp.-------"OK, sp x this is how the session is going to go?" First of all, I believe in MSOG-lol. Will that be a problem? Sp x replies, " Of course not squash" but remember to be "gentle" as I often get intimidated dealing with rugged "bad boys" such as yourself!---lol.

Toastmasters here I cum----no pun intended. Just to show Terb that I am serious here is the link to TM. Wish me luck! I'm sure I'll need it.

P.S----this thread was meant to be a joke sort of. In all seriousness, I might check out the next Toastmasters meeting. What do I really have to lose?

Hey squash!

*GL man - I enjoy reading your posts (unlike others sometimes it's tough) I was like you once...
I found that, after you get just an ounce of confidence, it will grow into a multitude of confidence, trust me, that's how it works.

You'll be fine. Just think....know one knows what your thinking...so why worry about it? ................ words to live by

BTW are you paying bread to become toast? I guess you'll need to heat up.

*GL = goodluck

Be assertive with the SP. Hopefully you will get her in the end.

Thanks SL and cycleguy for the support:) . I've always been terrified of public speaking. I figure it can't hurt to go to at least one meeting!

Good luck! That's wonderful. I am always impressed when people take steps to improve their lot, or themselves.

Expressing yourself publically can be frightening. The best way to gain confidence is to be sure of your message. Whatever you are going to speak on, know the material inside and out, so that (if possible) you actually enjoy speaking to it. In any event, you need to know your subject, not just memorize the words. The same can be helpful in daily life - know what you want to say, and say it. And of course the very best way to get over shyness, is to practice! Good luck and have fun.

Oh yeah, and if you panic at the last second, you need to bring down your audience a peg or two (mentally - inside voice). So remember, no matter how important or scary you might think they are, they all make goofy faces when they cum.

I can just picture it now. The president of Toastmasters asks me why I want to join TM? I tell him, "because I want to overcome my shyness in order to get higher mileage with sps:D ."

the president starts looking at me funny and tosses me out on to the street. The end---lol.

P.S. thanks Capital guy for the excellent advice!

When they cum???

is that still mandatory at the Toastmasters meetings???? You might be confusing them with GB's support group, Masterbators Anonymous.

Hello, my name is GB, and I'm a wanker.:D

Sounds pretty cool, even if your not in to this hobby those meetings could benefit many.

Best of luck :)

Toastmasters has an outstanding program. I saw this goofball at work go through the program and develop skills that let him blow by his co-workers and totally change his goofball image to an image that everybody admired.
The cost is very reasonable too.

I can echo this. I have seen a totally disfunctional individual blossom into a personable and confident individual.
