As much as I don't like some of the young punks that work at the gym I really miss the place & my routine. Whats everybody doing to stay fit? I can only imagine how pissed off some of the juice monkeys are that are on a cycle & can't lift no weights :frusty:

This is no time for the gym. Cake and donuts only.

A lot of you gym rats are going to come down with Type 2 Diabetes by the time the pandemic is over.

You'll have earned it.

Same routine. I built a gym in the basement. Bench press/ squat rack, recumbent bike, treadmill and free weights. It was a great investment saves me time and money. I don’t need a gym membership and I don’t have to find time to get to the gym.

Some trainers are offering virtual packages. I got one with mine actually is pretty good. Essentially I have my computer on face time and she tells me what to do and demonstrates with her video. She wants to actually take some equipment from the gym and deliver it to you as well (dumbbells etc ). We end up chatting quite a bit after too and she’s super hot so that helps lol.

I really miss my gym routine and my workouts, but I do a few exercises at home. Push ups, sit ups, planks, inverted leg raises, arm curls, kettlelbell squats, I also go for a run and use my stationary bike for cardio.

I have a gym membership (mostly for the scenery) but I only do body weight exercises (don't lift weights anymore...haven't seen much of a drop in strength) for strengthening so my workouts are identical at home as they are at the gym. I have been walking and getting out on my bike as well. I've definitely upped my workout time because of my reduced job hours as well so I'm actually in fine form right now.

Running . Have been walking for 20 minutes once or twice a day. Today is warm enough to start jog 20 metres - walk 20 metres. Did last year . New , better quality running shoes. lasted a month before it got boring. But, I got up to 15 minutes continuous. Never a problem with sore knees last year, as it has been in the past. I miss my exercise of choice - swimming .

Thank goodness the warm weather rolled around just in time to get the jogging in.

Two to four miles daily on my treadmill or stationary bike. 100 push ups and crunches daily. Free weights and floor exercises/stretching too every other day. And eating properly.

Eating less startch, chicken roasting in the oven.

Although my back is beginning to show signs of Roman Chair withdrawal. Sit ups alone doesn't do the job.

Was running 10 - 15 km per week.

Now with the extra free time, I am doing 20 -25 km per week.

On top of yo mama!
picked up a couple of 60 lb dumbbells at the treadmill factory a 1.5 weeks ago when i figured this was gonna last a while. Quite a few people figured this out too as when i got there, there was quite a bunch of people shopping and the store had sold out of 40 lb and under dumbells at all their locations.

If you can't do resistance training, focus on range of motion. Split squats only require stairs. No excuse really :)
