Life should be like that though. What happens outside of work the boss should only be able to say keep this talk out of the work place because what goes on outside does not belong here and tell employees to work out their indifferences outside the office is someone breaks up.
I guess I was pretty lucky the day the baker took me home to his place after I broke up with a man the same night.
The next morning the baker asked my boss if she could change my hours to the night shift and she agreed.
Obviously she knew if I were going to move in with him I would be going to bed with him that morning. From then on I went home with him every morning and came into work with him every night. I guess she figured all sex would happen at home. haha We each finished all our jobs on time and I was sure to complete things exceptionallly well each night to have things fully stocked and cleaned.
I was the best employee she had and he the best baker out of many bakers she tried to hire for weekends. She always came back to him again and again to work weekends too when in a bind. Maybe in the end for appearance purposes to customers she had no choice. Trust me many bakers made donuts too big or under cooked or over cooked and looked too dark. He really was the only one to make perfect sized donuts that fit perfectly a dozen in a box that had a nice golden appearance without being undercooked. Other bakers she would try she would come in and throw things out rather than serve to customers. This cost her a lot of money.
Other girls would not have juices filled for the morning rush, clean washrooms have tables cleared off, sugars filled and coffee going at full tilt, filters set out, all machines filled to the top and the dishwasher emptied etc...
I personally see no problem if employees end up in relationships as long as they get along and still do their jobs. The customers even knew we were together and were actually in approval of our relationship. It really hurt nobody.
Too bad most places do not approve of workplace relationships.
