Oops and thanks. I didn't really know the format after the 1st round group play. I guess I wasn't following the arrows correctly. Good thing I didn't submit it for $$, it was just to make watching more fun. Website brackets contests don't let you carry forward invalid picks. My expertise is in NHL/NFL/NCAA

You have a point, change comes slower to Italy than to Spain. The FIGC has started to invest in the women's game, it could be just a matter of time. The U19 Azzurini won the Final against Portugal with suffocating cattenaccio. The Azzurre couldn't do that against the Swedes who are significantly bigger.

The Italians came back down to earth with a thud, Sweden wins 5-0. They have a long way to go with the women's program, which was practically abandoned while the State adapted to the Euro.

The Italians werent that bad. The Swedes scored 3 goals directly from corner kicks and the 5th goal came from a break away when the Italians were pushing players forward. They will beat South Africa and qualify for the round of 16. Not yet apocalypse.

In similar situations I've seen CR7 and Paolo Rossi put their health on the line to take the scoring chance with diving headers. Substitute them put Lawrence as the trequartista, give Awujo a chance and put Zadrosky at left wing. It's time to throw caution to the wind.
