Word association game

As an "aside"...
I think I am playing this game wrong! I was under the impression that we each had to say a word, and the word I say, has to somehow "go" with the preceding word... e.g.
banned camp
camp fire
fire hose
hose bag
etc. etc.
It seems some people have edited their words after the fact that are making this all fucked up... or is it just me! (Probably! LOL)
