Boy that is a tiresome expression -

Also - if you really want to have fun with someone when they say "How are you?" - give them a real short, but sad answer...

something like "I have diarrhea" --- 9 times out of 10 they will say "That's Nice" because they are not listening anyway...

A snarfy "Are you sure you want to know?" usually shocks them awake and gets a whining "I'm just trying to be polite" sort of comment. Mindless personal questions are not "polite"!
