Don't have cable anymore but from who I remember....

Pretty much all the guys from Sportsnet... All big fucking douches....
Two in particular come to mind:

Nick Kypreos is such a dumbass....
His comments/opinions (especially during the Hockey Strike) are just idiotic.

Somebody tell this guy that he isn't funny. The guy tries so hard to be a frickin comedian....he makes my head hurt listening to him.
On top of it all...the dickwad fucking slags Toronto.
Somebody needs to put him out of his misery.

Jennifer Hedger...What a useless bitch. Agree with Rusty, she sucks (and not in the good way)....

Darren Dutchysen is kind of a goof as well.

And does Michael Landsberg count.... Because that guy is so full of shit!!!

Thinking about this lot makes me not miss cable at all....

Joe Rogan (of Fear Factor fame).
Rogan is doing commentary for the Ultimate Fighting Championship and he needs to get thrown out on his ass!!!! :mad:

Steve Koulias gets my vote.

Remember the short lived Roadrunners. He did radio commercials with the guy who started up the Roadrunners and the guy kept calling him "Cooly".

When people throw out nicknames like that it makes the guy sound like a jag off!

I agree with the fake gravelly voice thing too.

He probably sounds like his testicles have not dropped so he fakes it with a voice like Christian Slater.

There is another guy who works on the Score (can't remember his name ) and he uses a really, really low voice that you can tell is fake.

I would feel like an asshole if I had to fake my voice like that.

Aren't "pipes" a pre-requisite for that type of gig? Faking it seems so ... put on.

Rod...well hard as he tried..never the same cut.

I know Rod personally. He is an absolutely incredible human being. All those OXFAM type shows you see..he does that on his dime. He takes a paid leave to do those videos. He does that twice a year.

If he has any downfall it's his truthfulness. When he sounds like a kid on TV describing play by play or a golfer....it's because he is simply describing what he see's.

He has not unfortunatley gone from spectator to commentator.

While I love the guy as a friend, he is as many have pointed out not going to be a great sportscaster. He could be..but I don't have that answer.

Rod needs to know when to say...good..but not good enough!

Otherwise...I will tell you with 100% conviction, you will never meet a finer person than Rod Black.

Thank you for providing that insight. I had forgotten about those commercials that he does... That explains why Mr. Black has made it as far as he has..

You mention that he is a wonderful person, but on TV he comes off as really condescending and not at all like " just a sports fan"... i think that his problem is that he does not sound like a "sports fan"...

Guys like Maguire, or Madden you can tell that they just love the sport that they cover...

Deadnuts on with the Sportnet crew. I can't stand the yutz they have calling the CHL games. I have no idea what his name is but he adds nothing to the game and somehow with a relatively deep voice sounds terrible.

As for Kypreos, that man has no business attempting to communicate beyond facial expressions and pointing at pictures. His commentary and "insight" is simplistic and obvious. They'd be better off with bringing back Jody Vance and the glass desk to do the wannabe version of ESPN preview shows.

Did I miss something? How about Mr. CBC Brian Williams do Blue Jays baseball. My god was that terrible. Everything started with..... You talk about ... Ya lets talk about why should stay in the studio doing highlights instead of play by play instead of studio work. Thats right.. coz you suck.

Which is interesting because Rod Black is the same just for a different network. For such a so called "good sports town", its amazing to me the lack of quality broadcasters. Dan Shulman was the only decent voice in this city. Dan and Buck made an otherwise boring game watchable. I like Bob Cole's voice, just that he screws up to much now, and listening to Harry Neale is a laugh because you get the impression he just left his bar stool at 6:55pm to do the game and then headed right back once the game was over.

Must admit I brought him up as a bit of a ringer. Not even sure many of you guys would even remember him. On reflection, the man is a classic.

MarkII, good to know Rod's a nice overall guy but we weren't knocking him on his personality; just his mundane, monotonous commentary skills or lack of.

Michael Landsberg, don't get me started on OTR! I keep running into the bozo at Timmy's and you just want to smack the guy 'cause he's such a schmuck. But you got to hand it to him, he does pull good topics outta his arse on the show sometimes.

1. The mustache
2. The mundane, monotonous tone makes it sound like he is trying to explain
the most simple things to us morons....
3. He seems much too concerned with his looks..

OTR is a great concept for a show... and Landsberg has done a good job.... but I am not a fan

pretty much everyone on the FAN 590 with the exception of Bob McCown who is entertaining.

I have not read through the whole thread - so I'm not sure if anyone has already commented on the guys on TSN - but IMO they are terrible and anything but funny.
