Jeff Blair is awful. Besides the interrupting he thinks knows everything about anything.

David Amber sucks too. All he does is make captain obvious statements.

Jen Botterill is another that says the most obvious things, plus her delivery and lack of charisma are painful to watch.

I'm getting tired of Elliotte Friedman as well. Now that he's an "insider" he's pretty full of himself.

Jay Onrait. Does anyone actually like his stupid act?

I do think most of the female hosts on both networks are pretty damn good though (Jennifer Hedger, Laura Diakun, Lindsay Hamilton, Tessa Bonhomme, Kara Wagland, Sara Davis, Martine Gaillard, Evanka Osmak, Danielle Michaud). TSN has the hotter roster in my opinion.
I’d rather have David Amber than Ron McLean.

When did Elliott Friedman become such a star? He’s on sportsnet and the NHL radio about five times daily during hockey season along with his 32 thoughts podcast that I’ve never heard…he’s being overused and I’m tired of him.

I've taken my boys to Detroit, NYC twice, Cleveland, Baltimore and Chicago for Jays games.
Cool. To this point for Jays games I’ve been to Comerica a few times, Fenway once, New Yankee Stadium once (last summer. Tons of Jay fans follow them there). And then this summer later this month we are going to Dodger Stadium.

For non-Bluejay games, I’ve been to Dodger Stadium and Wrigley Field… almost watched the Padres in San Diego five years ago. They really love Tony Gwynn down there everything‘s named after him.

From what I see on tv, it looks like Jays games in Seattle are pretty wild for Jays fans. And, frustrating for Mariner fans, players, and management.

That would be cool to see. I am going to Seattle next year for the first time ever for a birthday. Unfortunately, it’s going to be in February..

But, I am definitely going to check out Chozen from the Karate Kid part two/Cobra Kai and his family run Hawaiian breakfast restaurant lol.

Postpone your birthday until the summer, like the Royal family in Britain does.

lol no it’s not my birthday it’s for someone whose birthday is on Valentine’s Day. Huge Kurt Cobain fan. Knows nothing about baseball, and wants to go for these reasons.

Ben Wagner is just another robotic game caller. Similar to Alan Ashby in his description of plays and voice tone. These guys call a baseball game like a football game,
there needs to be some humour, irony and some other words other than calling exactly what is happening at the moment.
Loved Scooter Rizzuto and Tony Kubek. Ben Wagner sounds like an AI program calling the game......

Holy Cow, when you brought up Phil Rizzuto's name that brought back memories. As a kid growing up in Ottawa in the 50's and 60's depending on how the weather affected the radio reception I used to listed to the Yankee games on Rochester radio. Phil came across as pure New York with his accent. Great days.

Talking heads looking for clout and saying things just for shock. #smh. Just like Kyper is a flipper and showing signs of cte sometimes.
no wonder we never win with these voices in players’ heads;
Kessel was golden when he called out a reporter for being an idiot.
Matthews was cool for calling out the guy who exposed his Covid19 test.

Bill White and Rizzuto were extremely entertaining to listen to.......It always felt like you were part of the Yankee family and it was like you knew them somehow...The stories that Phil could tell during the broadcasts. He loved the city and the city loved him. I used to pick up the games out of Syracuse on the radio in those days. In late mid 60's to the early 70's they fielded some bad teams. Then came George....

Brunt and Shannon are currently working Bobcat's podcast.

In retrospect, I'm surprised that Michel Landsberg wasn't fired on the spot for allowig Gene Simmons to grope Thea Andrews. Very different from the way Jimmy Kimmel took care of Andy Dick.

You could be correct about the games originating from Syracuse. I do recall they originated from northern New York state, Rochester, Syracuse or even Watertown. I remember the games were sponsered by Ballantine and Reingold Breweries, who are long gone. As a young guy everything seemed so foreign and exciting. Now it is exciting to walk down an American street without getting shot. LOL

Some are down on Jeff Blair, but he can be quite engaging in person. I haven't been to The Bishop and Belcher (Church Street, not far from the 590 studios) since COVID, but I met him in there often and had chats. I told him he gets a bottle of bourbon from me if he can ever get Barker to pronounce 'Encarnacion' correctly.

He has been gone for a long while (correct me if I am wrong) but the one guy I absolutely despised was Mike Toth. Sportsnet attempt at bringing a "cool" newscaster, resulted in bringing a smug prick instead.

Dude had mental health issues, even discussed it and his divorce on the air.

I don't know maybe its just me but I'm not a fan of Joe Siddal on the Blue Jays broadcast. He knows baseball but I just find his voice not that pleasing to listen to. I miss Pat Tabler.
There's nothing better than listening to Shulman and Martinez the best duo in baseball broadcasting hands down.
