Think about it....if you were a criminal, which one of the two houses you will rob? The one that you know there is no gun in the house, or the one that you know there is a gun in the house. Decision decision.....tough one huh?
I'd rob the one where there is money.

I think the criminals would prefer to burgle the house where they knew there was a gun, IF they also knew that no-one was home.

They can sell the guns for money.

This is one of the harmful side-effects of gun registries--organized criminals can access or buy the registry data and then target the homes of gun owners, after staking them out to ensure nobody is home at the time of the burglary.

i am sure the resources of the various govt's can get this information
And what would give them the right to go looking for it....

And consider:
Despite banning 3D-printer gun blueprints, the U.S. government posts gun designs online

But the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), which is an agency of the Department of Commerce, has been making patents accessible online free of charge since 2010. These often consist of descriptions and drawings of the invention, which may as a set of instructions on how to construct the invention.

Kurt Opsahl, a senior staff attorney at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, told The Daily Caller that “you can get a wide variety of detailed plans for building weapons” at the USPTO’s website.

Opsahl, whose organization advocates for digital rights, said that “concerns are overblown” about the 3D-printer gun designs because “there’s plenty of information that is available, and has been available for years, on how to make weaponry, and society has dealt with that.”

“The first machine gun patent is online,” he said. “If you want things that are relatively low-tech, you can go back a hundred years and get the patents for the first semi-automatic handgun.”

We can create a new agency to look into this, and we can call it the Gestapo.
sure. it that makes you happy. or we can just ask the agencies we have who are already doing this kind of stuff who monitor purchases of fertilizer, who takes out certain books, google searches, purchases pf pressure cookers etc
