I knew a few and they weren't the brightest bulbs. One sold me a tablet that needed a "new battery" because I bought and sold broken electronics at the time. All it needed was a charger I got a $300 tablet for $40 assuming that I needed to change the battery on it.

All it needed was a charging cord that wasn't broken.

This person is making medical decisions for a human being.

A person that couldn't figure out their cord was broken, is making actual life changing decisions for a small child.

Yeah, just forget about it and wait until you get shingles a few decades later. If it manifests itself on your face it can cause blindness. I had it on my abdomen, and that was bad enough. So you've got a choice: get the chicken pox vaccine, or wait until you get chicken pox and then get the shingles vaccine, or forget about both and go blind. You are missing my point entirely, nobody is compelled to take the flu vaccine. The flu kills thousands of people each year. The measles vaccine is forced on people when almost everybody who gets it survives.

Dude it can also cause blindness, other really bad symptoms including brain swelling causing damage, and if a pregnant woman gets it birth defects. So yes, it should he forced. Its a highly contagious disease. And there are no side effects from a vaccine.

There's been three fatalities as a result of the current measles outbreak in the US. There are thousands of cases reported. The last major measles outbreak in the US in 2019 had nearly two thousand and zero fatalities. I may have been a steady C- in math class in high school but even I'm smart enough to know that amounts to a fraction of a percentage of all cases reported over the past six years.

When I had measles as a kid back in the 80s there were at least a dozen other kids who had measles in my school at the same time I did. None of them died as a result.

This comes down to personal choice, do you want to take the risk with the disease or do you want to take the risk with the vaccine. If measles did still have a 60% fatality rate you'd have a pretty good argument that you'd be stupid not to take the vaccine but that's not the case today and hasn't been the case for decades. So let people decide what they feel is best and stop being such a sanctimonious douche bag if they don't agree with you. I really don't understand why parents won't vaccinate their kids against a very preventable disease.
