Remember that the champion of Carbon Tax is none other than the father of this new Conservative Reform Alliance Party (CRAP) Mr Preston Manning himself. He has recently even shocked Ezra Levant and his Propaganda Party News network when he passionately spoke out in favour of one. In Europe Petrol is a soft target for various governments both right and left wing to automatically tax this commodity in their budgets. The cost of gas in Europe should be no different than in North America. However, the taxation is staggering and whether they impose the carbon tax or not makes little difference to the consumers who are resigned to paying more at the pumps. Here in Canada and the USA there is normally an outcry if normal taxes are imposed as in the case of the HST in many provinces. So really in the end no one wants to pay more on Gas irrespective of the pros and cons. We were being subjected to unofficial taxes with a conspiracy by the Oil producers and Governments to artificially raise the prices of this commodity as at the end of the day they would benefit at the expense of the consumers. As a result a number of businesses that were impacted did collapse that affected manufacturing regions. What goes up has to come down, and hopefully there is no desire to inflict consumers with levies on Gas / Petrol with taxes such as the Carbon tax. Hope we continue to see cheap fuel at the pumps and once again enjoy tanking up with this commodity whether it comes from so called "ethical" sources or not.

Just wait until the transfer payments start getting small because Alberta has no extra monies left because of the oil price collapse, and just wait to see if the deflation in Europe starts to spread here.

The liberals have been shielded by the Toronto media for too long and they gloss over anything that might damage an already damaged and corrupt government. The big difference between individual's like myself and fanatical right winger's is that I will negatively comment against a party I am planning to vote for...i.e carbon taxes I am totally against them albeit Harper along with his advisor Manning are considering a national carbon tax probably by another name.

I have voted conservative in the past, I recently voted John Tory who is known to be center right. I didn't mind Harpo with a minority government and I'd prefer Justin to have a minority government if truth be told.

I do not pick a party and follow everything they say blindly as some do here. I have never voted NDP but I would choose Mulclair and gladly vote for NDP over Justin but unfortunately common sense and reality dictates to remove Harpo Justin is the only choice as it made sense to keep Hudak out we needed to vote Wynne in because Horwath couldn't carry the day in Ontario.
