Yes!!!! :o)

Hey guys,

Wooohoooo!!!

I don't mean to brag, but just want to let you guys are the first to know.

Just checked my messages from a a long tireing day working and I just got a call from Ford . My Saleen Musting is coming ealry than I expected. They are shipping it up from the states, they just finished it. Thought I would of had it by next summer, cause they were running into some tuneing problems with the engine and mods. Kinda suck I just stored my other car away, now I have to sell it by spring. I should have it before christmas.

Now now I am probably going to get flamed for being a Ford guy and bragging a little, but I'm not just love the Saleen. I'm currently driving a GM MC as a winter car.

WoooHoooo!!!

Is this a (more) hopped up version of the SC Cobra? Did you have to order it from Saleen yourself or did you buy it through a Canadian dealer?

Hey Bud

I went throug the dealership here in Canada. They helped me to Order it through the U.S. company. You have to buy it through an Saleen dealer. It is a actual Saleen S281E, speed package, Rims, and custom paint etc etc etc.. . and it is the hard top. I don't like convertables.

I now drive a svt cobra but that is not enough for me. I love power. It is just fun for me. I do like to race, but on a track. hehhee. Sometime on the road. Here actually where I live team subura for Ontario lives. I meet this couple and they have thought me some nice moves on the road. Also my buddy is a a good friend for a guy on the Ford racing team. Can that guy drive. Shit never seen a guys drive like that before.

I have to say, when you pull up at the lights, it nice to show off to some of these uptight guys ( Not all of them though) that drive BMW. You give it a little when the lights turns green and you show them that a car like that can beat them and basically you paid allot less for your than they ( I'm suing my current car which is stored away) . Sorry don't mean to FLAME the BMW or Mercd'z guys out there in Terb land. I think I have some pic of my cobra.. Let me check my computer..

I'm not sure what your Saleen will do, but the BMW M series is sweet. And it will do 0 - 100 km in 5.2 seconds. It might be able to give your Saleen a run for the money for a pansy european car not thought to be a muscle car. And it's quieter. And I love the Volvo S60R. My buddy just got one, and it's awesome. And it's a round about way of buying a Ford too! I'm looking at the Volvo, not sure I can justify that much for a mode of transportation, especially when I don't have a car payment right now, that's kind of nice. And I didn't take what you said as a flame, just as this isn't as well.

Well that is true. You could get the new Subura that is out that can basically beat the new porches and higher end cars without trying. I forget the model of the car, but it is a hard car to get. For myself I guess it is preference. My buddy drive the BMW X or something like that.. Nice ride. I like the more deep rumbling sound when the car idles and when you are on the run. I do like comfort, but I guess that is when I am hitting the 50 mark in age.

BMW are nice cars same as the Merd'z. Again it come to personal preference. I'm young and I still have allot of years ahead of me.

Annalee. why am I not surprised that your favourite car is from that year!:)

I think I'd go with the '70 Mustang with the 429Boss engine: 475HP with an rpm limiter! arrarrarrarrr!

Hey, svt, attach a picture of your cobra!
Where have you had it on the track? I hope you've been on the Grand Prix circuit at Mosport. Yeeeeehaaaaaaaa!

Oh. So just quarter mile. Snore. Gotta try a road course.
There's one at TMP that's actually not too shabby, but it still doesn't compare to Mosport.

Nice to see a Ford man amongst us. The Saleen is a nice car but even IT has too much snob appeal for me. For me the real kicker is to spend as little as possible and beat the most expensive / fancy cars. I have a customer who is a 23 year old kid, he has a 1990 Eagle talon AWD that he bought for $2000. He spent about $ 5000 on the car, the thing could use a paint job and nicer wheels (it has the originals) but he can beat almost anything out there. Runs low12s on street tires and pump gas. Reminds me of my 88 Mustang trunk that I bought new, paid 12,999 plus freight and tax, two years later it had the 351 "crate motor" in it and was running mid to high 11s all day long.

I'll see if I can dig-up a picture.

Sorry man I'm not a snob. I like all makers of cars in the industry. I'm driving a GM right now as my other one is stored away, and I treat that car as I do my other one.. I love the Saleen. It is a mean looking car, I think.

What mod's did he do to his car ? Is he running NOS and is it a Turbochargeg version? You said it is a talon. Is it the Talson TSI turbocharge 2.0 liter with the 1st gen dsm motor ? . Does he have a stereo system in His car (Weight Factor) ? I like to know what modifications he has done to his car, to make it run low 12's. Not saying that is hard to believe, Does he have his time slips from the track ?

East of here, west of there
North American auto mentality is so boring sometimes. Cars that can go fast in a straight line or around an oval track? Give me cars with a formula one or rallying pedigree anyday - that's real motorsport. I just love watching those big muscle cars pull up at the lights and make lots of noise and burn up all their rubber and gas showing how fast they can take off and then lose them around around any corner {smile}. As a friend of mine says, anyone can drive fast in a straight line, but driving fast through curves is a different thing altogether.
