svtcobra,
Of course like all talon AWDs it is a turbo (G1) You would have a really hard time to get a non-turbo Talon to go 12s. He is running a 3'' exhaust system with an upgraded Garrett-Mitsu hybrid Turbo. Huge intercooler, fuel pump upgrade, manual boost control, bigger injectors, A LOT of fine tuning. NO juice. The bottom end is completely stock (so far:) These little motors can take a beating. Stereo you ask? Well let's just say that it's got an AM FM radio. I didn't mean to call you a snob, its just that spending big bucks on a car that anybody else can buy does not appeal to me. The Saleen IS a very nice car but still a little too fancy for me. I've owned anything from a crazy Mustang to a big Lexus but like I said I rather be driving the $10,000 piece of shit that kicks the crap out of a high dollar "poseur" No offense to you REALLY, I hope you enjoy your new toy...drive safe.

qwerty,

Sorry, we are not sophisticated enough for you and your F1 buddies., but then again you guys aren't sophisticated enough for us if you think anyone can drive fast in a straight line.

Well my post was slightly tongue in cheek. Obviously not just anyone can drive fast in a straight line. It's not a matter of sophistication but I just think so many muscle cars are lots of noise and flash and not as much to really go with it and so many of the the folks that drive them only seem to care about going fast in a straight line and not much else and especially with our climate here, 1000 horses at the rear wheels only can be funny to watch sometimes. There's a heck of lot of posers in those cars but there are some muscle car heads who actually can drive and don't just go around making lots of noise. But heck it is fun blowing the doors off those big cubed noisemakers with a little two litre four cylinder engine (OK, turbo charged, AWD like an STI).

1/4 mile vs road course

C’mon, anybody can run in a straight line for such a short distance! If not, how did you get out of your driveway? Its not snobbery, its about where you place emphasis. Drag racing is 80% car, 20% driver. Road racing is more like 50/50.

I can tell you first hand, that there are few who try road racing, and then later say drag racing is tougher. If you haven’t tried a road course, there are many inexpensive options available. A car like a Saleen isn’t built just for straight line speed, and you can’t air it out on the streets (not really, really air it out).

Yes one thing for sure is that if you have a decent performance vehicle whether it be a bike or car and you want to experience more of its potential then take it to a track (be it on or off-road) with supervision (track marshals, etc.) and you can really have some fun.

Hey Everyone,

Sargeant StiffCock:

Thanks forthe update on the car modifications. I am just a year older than your customer, and I have a very sucessful business. I'm a programmer by trade. Yes I am young and I felt that I want to spend my money that I work hard for on something. I could have gone full blown and bought a viper, but not in my taste and it is too much. I'm not bashing you, but I did take it offensive when you said "IT has too much snob appeal", there are allot of older guys out there that drive some very nice muscle cars and when they see a young kid driving a NICE ride too they don't give you respect, they think you shouldn't be driving a car like that. I work hard for my career and I want to give myself a toy that will last me a few years and I will have fun, with it. Some guys invest their money in a shit load of stocks, bonds. etc etc of even hobbies. With this car I can enjoy my life and actually say thiis is what I have and it is my own, free and clear of no finiance compnay to bother you that pay them every month. I just love the saleen ever since I was 16 when I first heard of it and recently 1-2 yrs ago had a ride in one.

I understand what you are trying to say that you rather but another car and do all the modifications to it to beef it up from stock status and say I did that work on my car. I don't disagree with you, but for some people like I. I don't have the time to put into new project. I will love to do that.

Yes I have to agree with you bud. I opted for the suspension package in thist car.

Let me get something straight to the people reading these messages. I'm young and I don't go out and race my car. I'm just a car lover and I just love performance (HP). There is a few times I have raced on back roads or even in the city. I like the thrill but it a thrill for a few mins, until you take someones life. With the mistake that you made a minute ago. I have lost friends in accidents from raceing and being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This is my hobby second to Programming. It is just fun for me. I'm 24yrs, not married or have kids, and I don't have a GF. I just like to have fun.

Thanks
