If I were stranded on an island, these would be my choices:

As good as it gets (Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt) - A screwed-up old guy gets his shit together and gets the gurl. Wow!

Before sunrise (Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy) - Da reason why I will someday go to Vienna. The sequel is not as good as the original but gives you some kind of continuation to the story and answers what happened afterwards.

Heat (Robert De Niro, Al Pacino) - My fave De Niro movie of all-time. I love his character in this movie (So sharp, always in control, ruthless when he has to be. Yah, I know he makes a bad split-second decision in the end and pays for it. Still, I luv it.)

Bladerunner (Harrison Ford, Sean Young) - I recall Citytv would always run this movie on NYE at midnight. This film was made in the early '80s and still holds up today. There are two versions of this film. I like the one with Harrison Ford narrating. It depicts the future as a bleak and gloomy place. Oh yeah, and the main character, a human cop falls in love with a female robot.

Dumb and dumber (Jim Carrey) - It's so stupid that I love it. It cracks me up to no end. Another good dumb-ass comedy is "There's something about Mary (Ben Stiller, Cameron Diaz).

Four weddings and a funeral (Hugh Grant, Andie McDowell) - I love Hugh's brit accent. As my sister would say, it's so poshy.

I know guys aren't supposed to dig "chick flicks", but I don't mind admitting here that I do. The one I really like is "Serendipity" (John Cusack, Kate Beckinsale).

Not quite 20 but off the top of my head, these are the ones I adore.

Yes, I own most of my top 20 on dvd. I watch them whenever I'm in the mood to. Usually I will watch one of the top 20 once every two months.

The great thing about watching a movie over is that almost every time you re-watch it, you find something new about the movie that you never saw before.

I heard this is especially true of Blade Runner. The first time I saw it I HATED it. I've watched it three more times since then, and each time it comes a bit more watchable. But still, I think Blade Runner is too dull and slow-paced for my taste.

I forgot:

Heavy Metal

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082509/

Voice of John Candy:

"I can't walk around with my dork hanging out!"

"Eighteen years of nothing and now TWICE in one day!"

Also John Candy as the little robot who fucks the Jewish secretary is almost as cool as Twiki.
