Count me as one who wasn't moved to tears when I watched the youtube video. I didn't hear/ feel what everyone else was apparently. I don't think she's even that good of a singer.

Isn't it obvious the reason she's never been "kissed" by a man is she's probably gay (not that there's anything wrong with that)?

How many of you know that Simon makes his real cash off the record deals he cuts from BGT and American Idol? He makes $10M a year for hosting and zillions more from record sales and promotional items.

It's amazing how much reality television is scripted now with a piss poor economy (now globally and about get much worse here in Ontario) ... scripted to get the masses to believe in rags to riches.... signs of enduring hardtimes- coffee and chocolate consumption is expected to skyrocket this month, too.

they must have mass auditions for the audition i would suspect

look at all the free labor they get from the auditioners

they only pay one and rake in millions off of it

Indirectly it is , no question, as it is so restricted as to who gets on and tells us the "way it is" as Cronkite used to say but is it more insidious then that?

I don't think the judges knew what she was going to do because it's not in their self interests to know in advance how she'll do. That would kill the spontanaity of their responses, audience would pick up on "canned, manufactured vibe" in their response and the show would be finished with.

Of course lower level producers are screening some of these contestants before they get on stage; but, the main judges would not know what is going to happen.

I understand some people's cynicism; but, in this case ruthless, calculating, pragmatism dictates there is no way in a million years it is in 3 judges interests to know how things will pan out ahead of time. I mean get real, if you were on the panel of 3 judges, - are you such a control freakologist that you "need" to know how it is going to play out ahead of time. That would ruin all the fun and kill the energy you get from a spontaneous response that the audience wants.

Look at judge Amanda Holden's response to an act called Stavros Flatley. Do you think she could have reacted that way if she knew in advance how it was going to play out. If so she is the world's greatest actress:
