Wasn't sure where to post this but here goes. I currently have an iptv box that is pre-installed from some guy on kijiji that i pay a monthly subscription. I noticed the box starting to freeze after a few years and I chalked it up to being outdated. Since then I upgraded the box, still same issue. I've even upgraded my internet so i know that isn't the issue.

Can anyone recommend a reliable service? and do i require a new box such as an nvidia shield? the one i have now seems like a knock off android box. My gut is telling me it's more the server i'm using rather than the hardware, but not sure. Any help is appreciated

All IPTV providers sometimes have channels that freeze up.
Or the audio is out if sync.
Or some channels go dark.
Its got nothing to do with your android box.

For this reason I have 3 different providers, that way if one channel goes down on one particular provider, I still have 2 backups.

Costs me $30 a month for all 3 providers.
Well worth it!!

Thanks

If I have a Roku stick any of this won't work, right?. In that case, do I need to buy a box? If so, which one do you recommend?

I'm using apollogroup.tv + a Chromecast (w/ Android TV) and it's excellent.
They're a little more expensive, but they're one of the older IPTV providers on the market.
They've got an Android TV app called StartupShow which is compatible with the service and is actually better than most of the other Kodi / general IPTV apps out there.

Kodi used to be an excellent alternative to the Cable. However, in the lasts couple of years it has really gone downhill with apps that contain too many links that do not work and the signals were awful. That is when I switched to IPTV after trying Kodi's Free IPTV, that was not much better than the normal Kodi.

In the case of IPTV, initially, I switched to a local provider who offered me just one initial installation fee of $12.50 installation costs for the IPTV and it was Free after that. Lasted for a couple of years and then I lost the provider. The service was going downhill, anyway. But more recently subscribed to CrownTV for $150 for a year on a BuzzTV Box and it was excellent with no freezing for all the local channels. Watched practically every single game of the FIFA World Cup and it was as good as the normal cable TV. Even the Restricted VODs are amazing with around 35,000 porn videos along with the normal movies. Just no time to watch all of them. LOL!! Only one evening for a couple of hours did I get some annoying freezing for all the Channels and VOD. However, there was a new update and am back to normal.

I started using IPTV last year through someone my brother-in-law found on Facebook. The service was through Dino IPTV on an Amazon firestick. Overall, I was pleased but decided to try someone else. Found a provider on Kijiji and subscribed to two services: Best and Dino. Picture quality is substantially better than the previous provider and less buffering.

Best offers a great selection of video on demand, English movies and shows from all the major streaming services. It also has all the major North American sports and live channels. While Dino is great for live TV, sports and international content.

I use Dino as my primary service because I like the European sports channels while it still has a lot of North American content.

I have been using Apollo for a while now and they are excellent. It's ~$25/mo gets you 5 connections, so I wouldn't call it expensive. I use both a conventional android box and an Nvidia shield. I prefer Nvidia personally, but it is a more expensive product.

ETA: There are no porn channels with Apollo. No CatchUp either if that's something that you use.

How about after you've signed up?
You can hide those Adult channels and also The Restricted On Demand Movies, when you go into the "category" section of the settings menu and there is a way of making them invisible.
Then you can bring them back to visibility at any time. Also, there is a Password for the Adult Channel in case you do not want them accessed by your wife or kids!!

The adult channels aren't available on ApolloTV, unless they're very well hidden. I've checked in all of the settings. I still have a BuzzTV connection so I have access to p0rn there.

Normally adult channels are included in the IPTV subscription. Been through 3 providers and all of them offered it. Not sure about why ApolloTV does not offer them.
I also have the BuzzTV Box and that only has the download of whichever IPTV provider you go with. I use Crown TV for just $12:50 per month each for 3 different boxes and it includes the Adult Channels and Restricted VOD. There are so many categories and channels and that is why I hide numerous categories and language channels that I would not want to watch. Otherwise, it makes surfing these channels too cumbersome is they are visible.

Canada is Tracking IPTV User’s IP Addresses

The war on IPTV services is continuing to heat up. These illegal services that sell access to live TV for a fraction of the cost of legal services have become a big target for media companies.

So what are IPTV services? In short, an IPTV service is an illegal live TV streaming service promising to give you all the big networks like ESPN but for a fraction of the cost of legal services.

Now we have learned that in Canada, users of IPTV services are having their IP address that can identify them logged. This comes as the NHL won a court order to block some pirate IPTV services. Not only did the internet service block the services, but they also logged and turned over the IP address of anyone who tried to access these services, according to TorrentFreak.

Canada is not alone in cracking down on IPTV services. In the US, a new law passed back in 2020 that made running an IPTV service a more serious criminal matter. Since 2020, multiple IPTV services have been targeted for legal action, both civil and criminal.

This is a massive shift from what used to be a hands-off approach by police. One of the first bit ones was when FBI went after the streaming service iStreamitAll. Later they went after the Gears Reloaded service was raided and shut down. Piracy is now being viewed as a criminal issue.

Recently both the Nitro IPTV service and USTV GO have both been shut down and in the case of Nitro, the owners are facing a $100 million judgment against them.

As cord cutting has put pressure on cable TV companies and content owners, they have invested heavily in efforts to stop even small piracy services. What was once a side project for many companies is now a major focus. Look for 2023 to be a year full of crackdowns on all kinds of illegal streaming services, including IPTV services.

Just get a VPN. Problem solved
