Aside from a couple of dozen (that we publicly know of) wannabe terrorists and the rest hating us for trying to protect women's rights in Afghanistan, I get the general impression that the vast majority of Pakistani Canadians are well behaved and productive members of Canadian society.Yes? No?

One would hope so. But in huge measure it depends upon how good a job has been done in screening potential imigrants, unfortunately we know that it has been far from perfect.

Pakistan = Terrorist Central.

The US should have invaded them instead of Iraq or Afghanistan.

Exactly what US should have done long time ago! As corruption and mis-management is rampant in that country! Very unfortunate and sad state of affairs in that country!

When it comes to immigrants, who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men (and women). How does one screen what is in people's hearts.? Also, I think the majority of the identified Pakistani Canadian terrorists wannabes are Canadian born.

Was that failed Times Square bomber an immigrant or U.S. born?

Rockslinger...

Your original assertion is correct. The ones I know (many, many, many) remind me of Leave it to Beaver. A loving dad brings home the bacon while a proud mom raises polite and intelligent children. They are gracious, warm, open their homes to you, and get pissed off at the same stupid things that we get pissed of at, like HST and lying politicians and exploding power costs. They remind me of my grandparents and their traditional sensibilities. To some people, I guess that is bad.

This may be a little off topic, but I'm still pissed that it is no longer 'politically correct' to wish someone a Merry Christmas at Christmas time, so I make it a point to make sure I say "MERRY CHRISTMAS" and when I send out my Xmas Cards I make sure that it has 'MERRY XMAS' on it. Screw this Season's Greetings bullshit.

This immigrant situation seriously is out of control. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for immigration into this beautiful country (being a 4th Generation Canadian) but at what point is there enough?

When they hand over Osama Bin Laden I will change my view of them. Until then, fuck Pakistan. I say back India and let them wipe Pakistan off the map.

The point your making has nothing to do with the topic, in fact it is of a racial nature, which is precieved suggestive on your part," What you applaud at is based on your preception of thing changing."

Whereas you can not say," Merry Christmas to everyone," what you have to understand Christmas is a holiday based in Christian tradition and not everyone is Christian in origins."

You have a right to celebrate any holiday in whatever manner you choose, as like others people of various back grounds do.

What you are attempting to create is a arguement because immigrants come from various places it causing you dissatisfaction, " and destroying your own preception of what Canada should be like!

Honestly I think his answered it correct, and did not miss what you were saying at all," I think you are missing what he saying."

As for being fourth generation Canadian...no biggy, my family been her since the 1760, do not see me blaming people from different cultures for the change, change is good, makes us forced ot learn about others.

So I suggest you sit back and think about what he saying, because it you missing the point, not him. Also what you are saying is somewhat prejudice and most people do not want to comment.

I suggest you read my post properly and understand what I said. You are lost.

We can agree to disagree. He is right about one thing though, no I will not be stoned for saying merrry christmas in Canada but I would if I were in Iran or Iraq.
