Helmut Seifert, a 47-year old in Bielefeld, northwest Germany, grew angry when he learned his 17-year old daughter was involved with an older man. He asked local police to intervene, but they have no authority to end consensual relationships.

"The man was forced to remove his trousers and, fully conscious, he was castrated," police said. "The severed testicles were taken away by the perpetrator."

Doctors will not be able to reattach his organs.

Suicide bombers usually take a lot of people with them when they blow up. The latest one (a woman) in Pakistan killed 45 people lining up for food and wounded many more.

What the sentencing range for the crime is in Germany I do not know. But Herr Seifert has been charged with attempted murder.
