“There was no evidence to substantiate a criminal charge,” Vella said.

But Fuji assured us that Ford had committed a crime or three.
There was just one complainant in this 'you know who' induced kerfuffle. It was the 'coward' and 'blowhard' aka 'you know who'.

Now had Daniel Dale gone all 'Ford-serk' as the 'complainant' had and cried to the police(and the media, and any and all good folks within bellowing range) that he was the victim then an investigation into 'you know whose' actions that evening would have been undertaken.

Be clear my fine-feathered 'defenders' of the indefensible, the only investigation undertaken by the police was premised by 'his' complaint and thus the only actions investigated were those by the 'victim', Daniel Dale.

But as we have all come to realize, some from the very outset of 'his' mayorship, some more slowly, some ever slower still with a dawning dread of disgust and contempt and even those still depserately clinging onto any sliver of hope for 'you know who', the only person's actions that fateful evening that were criminal were 'you know whose'.

Why you 'folks' cling onto the slightest scintilla of 'hope' for 'you know who' is beyond comprehension.

+1

Why do some of you want to align yourself with him??? Way beyond my comprehension.....

It's one thing to stand behind those who represent your political beliefs but quite another to stand behind a complete idiot.

all over
The only good Toronto newspapers are The Globe & Mail & The National Post.
The Star is the worst-half-decent sports & entertainment section.

I like all of the Toronto newspapers, for different reasons.

-- Star -- good coverage of Toronto issues, good investigative journalism. It has some strong columnists, such as Rosie DiManno and Thomas Walkom. One big weakness: Heather Mallick.

-- Sun -- It's not popular on TERB, but I like the Sun. It's a fun read, it breaks stories (http://www.torontosun.com/2012/05/1...unshine-law-after-sun-reporter-spots-loophole) and it has columnists such as Lorrie Goldstein who present perspectives that don't necessarily adhere to partisan lines (http://www.torontosun.com/2012/05/09/crooked-capitalism).

-- Globe and Mail -- Good journalism, and I'm a big fan of columnist Margaret Wente.

-- National Post -- As a right-winger, it has many columnists I like -- Terence Corcoran, Rex Murphy, Andrew Coyne, Kelly McParland, etc. It has arguably the strongest lineup of weekend columnists in its Saturday edition.

I have a Globe subscription but am going to cancel it.
They are adding web subscription, laying off reporters and continue to bury any negative stories on Harper. Those stories show up on the front page (links to Quebec stimulus graft last week....) and then never make it to print.

The star is so poorly written or dumbed down I won't read it.

The Post is blatantly right wing, but is starting to at least publish negative articles about all parties in government.

I guess you'll be stuck with the Sun.

Agreed on all points.

I like Warmington too, he's not afraid to break stories on police corruption, even after receiving threats

Not me.

The masochist in me likes it when Jenn calls me a 'low-effort' thinker. :biggrin1:
Real talk: Please don't take what I post here to heart. I love the debates. I feel that I'm learning by seeing other perspectives. I really fear offending people. I have certain views because of my life experience. I don't think badly of people who disagree with me.

That's ett ;)

As a scientifically ignorant, cherry-picking, cut-and-paste polemicist (I`m learning self-awareness in another thread: https://terb.cc/vbulletin/showthrea...dmits-we-don-t-know-what-the-climate-is-doing), I have to say I enjoy reading your posts.

The political forum wouldn`t be any fun if we all agreed with each other. No one should take the debates personally.

Whats also funny is people who say The Star is not a Liberal, union-supporting, left-leaning, biased newspaper
I need the chuckles; could you quote some, please. Everyone should know that The Star was founded by striking union printers and pressmen (long before reporters and writers realized they needed unions), and under the Atkinson family's direction the paper supported and continues to support many scholarships and other socially progressive causes.

The Sun has Sunshine Girls, The Post had Conrad, and the Globe's founder—a passionate opponent of John A. and all he stood for—was assassinated. Whoever imagines any news source is without bias? You Phil?

But bias in a story doesn't make facts in it untrue.

I totally agree. But many Lefties fail to see this. They think The Star is either completely unbiased, or not nearly as biased as say The Sun or FoxNews.

They're living in denial
