We've always bad coaches, and we always say the last former coach was better than the current one, except in this situation. Triano was probably the worst coach in NBA history and should have never become a coach in the first place. Casey is bad, real bad, but he's still a very slight upgrade from Triano. Sam Mitchell, on the other hand, he was a quality coach. When things got bad the fans turned on him, but if we knew who the next 2 coaches would be we all would have wanted him to stay. I'm not saying he should be brought back, but he's just infinitely better than Triano and Casey combined.

The Raps usually hire inexperienced coaches, that's the problem.
Well AA set the precedent when he hired Gibbie ( who got in fight with players ) and so why not Sam who is accused of wrestling with Vince . Heck get Vince back and we can go retro lol

I agree, Triano was terrible, he had to go. Casey was great last year though, I'll admit, because they needed a fresh voice and the constant reminders on defense because it was so abysmal under Triano and a new defensive culture had to be established.

But now it's a year later. He's established what he wants from his team. He doesn't need to constantly bark at them anymore during the game, it's time to have confidence in your players and let them execute what you've been preaching during practice. I think Casey's Assistant Coach background is playing into that, head coaches have more of a feel for when to just let the players play and save the lessons for practice and the locker room.

Calderon, Bargnani, De Rozan, Amir Johnson, Kyle Lowry are all veterans now, they don't need to be coached from the sideline when playing defense during a game, it's ridiculous. And if I were them I'd feel a bit humiliated as a professional athlete that my coach thinks I need reminders about where to be and what to do during an NBA game.

If a coach wasn't yelling stuff from the sidelines then that would be a rarity. I mean Phil Jackson jumps to mind as a guy who would sometimes sit..... but even then sometimes it was to prove a point.... other times he's standing, yelling, whistling.

So I think it's unfair to bash Casey for this.

My problem isn't the yelling per se, but not for whole defensive possessions at a time, Phil Jackson and Gregg Popovich and Doc Rivers do a quick, strong yell to a player to get their points across, not the over and over and over again getting down in a squat nonsense Casey employs.

I see your point. By the same token I would say.... if they played better the coach wouldn't feel like he needs to do this.

And if they are embarassed by what the coach is saying to them that's too bad..... as the record is even more embarassing.

On paper Lowry, Derozan, Pietrus, Bargs and Jonas doesn't look like that bad of a line up but the second unit looked bad for the short bit that I watched tonight.

4-16 now, soon to be 4-17 when they face the Clippers tomorrow, and then 4-18 when they face the Blazers, then 4-19 when they face the Nets and 4-20 when they face the Mavs. The Raptors suck, I can't believe this is their worst season in franchise history, unbelievable.

Fire Colangelo, Fire Casey, and trade Bargnani (but not for Gasol he's another Turkoglu in the making). This is getting ridiculous, I have tickets to 10 more games this season I might just sell my tickets to all my games except for the Heat and Lakers.

Are all the games you go to sellouts?
I remember a few years ago when there was excitement about the team the ACC always seemed to
be filled to capacity.
I've only been to 2 so far, one on opening night which I believe was a sellout, and the second home game of the season against the Wolves, I think there was about 16,000 fans. I'm going to the game next Friday against the Mavs, it's not as bad as the Leafs that sell out every night even when the Leafs are second last in the league, but no matter how bad the Raps are I don't think they'll get less than 16,000, we love our sports too much in Toronto, even though we should be sending a message to MLSE that we won't tolerate such a garbage product by not going to games.

I am happy I live far enough outside of Toronto that I'm not tempted to purchase a bunch of tickets like you did.(I thought about it at the start of the season) The crap they are putting on the floor is embarassing. Utah humiliated them last night and the Jazz players were laughing at them.
Have you ever thought about writing to MLSE and asking for a refund? I would love to see their response. Bet they have a form letter as a response.

QUESTION: NOT SURE IF THIS WAS ANSWERED ALREADY..I understand the raptors don't have a draft pick next year, does that mean even if they finish last overall they get NO PICK? as much as I follow the game, I don't understand the draft process .

There draft pic is protected top 3 ... As long as lottery senerio results in pic 4 and higher we are okay .

What's happened with this team.

They started the fourth period a few points (4) down were getting close to equalising, and now 7 or so minutes later they are nearly 20 points behind against the Clippers bench. All they seem to be good at is either giving the ball away or fouling.

They made 3 baskets out of 20 in that quarter. Clippers made 9 out of 17. That was vs the Clippers bench. :frusty:

I think you mean 3 and higher. If it's 4th, it goes to the Thunder!! (Like they need it) because Houston gave it to them in the Harden trade. How Raptors would that be to get the 4th pick this year?

They're now 4-17, the losses keep piling up, this team is a total joke.

After Quincy Acy fought with Rudy Gay he got sent down to the D-League, I hope Lucas doesn't get sent down after his fight with Barnes.

After Portland, that dreaded 15 of 22 on the road start is over. I think they'll definitely play some better ball at home, but contending for the 8th seed is over, unfortunately.

Makes me wonder what I'm cheering for now. They won't be the worst and they won't be good enough for the playoffs, talk about going nowhere.

I think along with the Bobcats the Raptors have clinched worst NBA franchise of the last decade...
