When you are attacking a poor country this aggressively to try to prove a point, it’s a pretty good bet that you’ve lost the argument.
It's not a contradiction. There were at one point shitholes. They rebuilt themselves and then weren't anymore.
Other nations have made no progress and in some cases have moved backward.
It comes down to this. You wouldn't move your family to Haiti, Somalia, Venezuela, Congo, Yemen or probably 100 other nations. And you know why.
I wouldn’t move there because those countries are struggling economically; not because they are inhabited by shitty people. You keep blaming the victims of Western oppression for the struggles imposed on them by the West.
Western oppression? Sure, some of the shitholes had our help, but most of them reached for their shithole status all by themselves.

One off the reasons a shithole is a shithole is because the people living there resign themselves it.
It's like govt housing issues. There are just some people in this world that are willing to live in trash.

If there are good jobs people will take them and make the place nicer, if the resources and profits are farmed out and there's nothing left, people will do with what they've got.

Once again I do not consider any nation to be shitholes. Most of the nations in Africa have been plundered by the Western nations, leaving them in total chaos. Take a nation like Uganda for example. They were actually thriving after their independence and that economy was growing with their rich mineral resources as they were becoming the most literate nation in Africa. No doubt it was just a one party state. Look what the British did by installing General Idi Amin, the rest is History and that country has still not recovered from that period. This is one of many examples with a lot of nations round the globe.
You will also be surprised how many people, once retired and they have moved back to their country of origin. With their savings and pensions they live very comfortably back in their countries of origin.

You not only blame the poor for their plight but you seem to look upon them with disdain. I don’t. But for the grace of God that could be any of us.
The point of living within a liberal capitalist society is the ability to raise yourself up if you are reasonably healthy and mentally stable.
I've been down in life. I came back. There is no reason they can't either.
Enabling behavior that causes poverty does no favors to the poor.
People live in trailer parks for many reasons. People are poor for many reasons. To expect people to just pull thems lives up by their boot straps and stop being poor is simply unrealistic. I’d it was that easy no one would be poor.
Why is their poverty in the black community in the US? Why is their poverty in the Native community here? It is not because they are racially/genetically inferior.
Of it has absurdly nothing to do with any idiotic thoery about race. It has nothing to do with race. Or racial genetics.
It has to do with the culture. Belief systems. Govts. Spiritual beliefs.
It has to do with geography, weather, natural barriers.
It has to do with war, resource limits.
But in the case if said trailer park denizens they are living in a rich nation which also has a huge migratory tradition for jobs and a better life. I would love to see a better social safety net there but that's not happening soon.
But opportunity awaits those willing to dig in.
I was once close to losing it all. In the early nineties when it was bad. But I didn't give up. Worked at some pretty shitty jobs to keep afloat and await opportunity.
In other words I damn well picked myself up by my bootstraps. And if I can Do, I don't see why most can't either.

I agree that natural disasters, geography, drought, limited resources all create hardship. There is no evidence, though, that culture has anything to do with it. There is no evidence that one culture is superior to another.
Returning to the topic of Haiti, the West’s relentless attacks on Haiti have imposed tremendous harm on them. Ignoring this and blaming the Haitians is akin to blaming Native North Americans for their struggles and ignoring Europeans’ attempts at cultural genocide.
The West has turned Haiti into what you guys gleefully label a shithole; and now you try to blame the Haitians for it.

Just because one culture has different priorities,... does not mean they are inferior,... but most definatly influences how that culture evolves.
