I have W10 but hardly ever use it now since Linux is my main OS. Haven't really looked into how they let you free upgrade to W11. Best to just 'Google it' or go to the M$ site for directions.
Yes it is possible to have W7 and W10 on the same PC. You just partition your drive or add another drive.
My desktop PC currently has 3 SSDs in it and runs 5 OSs right now with no problems. Namely W10 and 4 Linux OSs. They all run fine with no issues.
Prior to that I had 5 OSs running, W7, W10 and 3 Linux OSs on my PC. All 5 OSs ran fine until the one old mechanical HDD died which had W7 and an older Linux OS installed.
Replaced that dead HDD with a new SSD and never bothered with W7 anymore since it is considered obsolete now, along with the older Linux OS that was on it. I just installed the latest new Linux OS on that new SSD and currently all 5 OSs run fine with no issues.
