The "150 year olds" was a data error used as a placeholder. That error was discovered by an IG in 2015 and fixed. That report is available. Musk did not read it. The report is available on the internet. It's OIG report A-06-14-34030, dated March of 2015.
Yes, there are some dead people who have no family to report the death, or have a family committing fraud to keep the payments coming. But the 2015 report said only 13 people on the payroll aged 112 or older.

I cannot count the number of time I have built programs to identify, prevent, automate clean-up, monitor, and audit databases. Yet sometimes you simply cannot delete entries. For various reasons that always involved level of clearance and security. What we do not see here in what Elon is reporting is that either these database entries are flagged in the database itself or in the clean-up program that is run before a second layer program will pull a query and send results to the payment system. I try to vulgarize here as much as possible.
