One would never have a gripe against Frank, who was good friends with Mooney Sam Giancana. When his son-in-law singer Tommy Sands was being pursued by Chicago mobsters and had a contract placed ipon his head, he appealed to Frank for help. Frank picked up the phone, made a call and the contract was declared null and void. Sands remarked later that he never knew how extensive was Frank's influence over the Mafia. I doubt if Anka would want anything to do with Frank other than music.
Shecky Green can vouch for that. Famous quote.
Shecky Greene once joked that Frank Sinatra saved his life. He claimed that a group of Sinatra's goons were hurting him, but Sinatra intervened and said, "That's enough"

Paul Anka knew where his bread was buttered. Not one to beef with the mob.

So no drive by shootings...On a side note I'm betting Frank appreciated ''My Way'', which Paul wrote.

He wanted more than that.
He urged regular citizens to kill drug dealers on the spot if they sold drugs on their street.
Thats going a little too far for me....LOL.
It probably does get results though

Ya that's crazy. I guess he didn't believe much in due process lol

Not sure about total shootings but in 2025 Toronto has seen a significant decrease in homicides. Through May of this year the city recorded only 12 murders. At this time last year we were triple that. The year before that double.

Is this just an anomaly, who knows? I think what has definitely helped is Trump's call for Canada to do better on border security and the US doing better on theirs (with both Canada and Mexico). The result is less guns are crossing the border.

Or mebbe the hard work of TPS' Guns and Gangs unit is starting to pay long-term dividends? 🤷‍♂️

Nah, it's Trump. Since guns are combustible and decompose within a few months, it only makes sense that without fresh guns (since Jan) there would be fewer shootings.

You cult members <smh>

Jails and prisons are not deterrents in Canada because they're not harsh environments. Efforts are being made to make them even softer than they already are.

95% of the robberies and shootings would cease if we had the same prison system that El Salvador does.

These idiots are shooting each other over diamond necklaces, endangering innocent people, causing fear and terror in their neighbourhoods, lowering real estate values, spreading hate and wasting police resources.
Respectfully, I'd suggest there is an underlying fault in your logic. You don't live in the same society/world these type of people do. Your values and theirs are so vastly different. Many of these thugs look at being arrested, jail time etc to be a badge of honour/street cred.

Toronto has gone from "Toronto the good" to "Toronto is the hood".
Fack, I was seeing a gem around that same time the shootings were taken place and I was roughly about 10 to 15 minutes away from there. Fisrt time at that location and Did not like that area at all. Can easily say, that I won't be repeating at that location.

If there was fault in the logic, it would have been a colossal failure in El Salvador, where the criminals live in circumstances many times worse than anywhere in Canada. Instead it's been a stunning success.

Street cred only goes so far even in those countries.

Badge of honour? The criminals in Toronto hoods have no honour. They have a rat culture.

The badge of honour you're thinking of is only performative. Criminals get locked up and come back out, to tell their stories of doing time. When the system is a joke, it's easy to beat your chest.

If they go in, and never come out, a major pillar in that badge of honour disappears. The ones that never get released are quickly forgotten.

If they go in, and it's actual Hell (23.5 hours per day in lock down, true solitary confinement, no mattresses, no bed sheets, zero tolerance for contraband, no visitations, no phone calls, no recreation, no education) you would see a drastic change in the perception of prison within the gang culture element in Toronto overnight.

It`s the caught in the crossfire thing, as demonstrated in Toronto and Hamilton the last while. Like ole Detective Joe Kenda said,... " Don`t worry about the bullet with your name on it, worry about the one that says to whom it may concern."
The murder victim was a GGG member who was already paralyzed from another shooting.

GGG/Lawrence Heights have beef with Driftwood/Wass Gang and MG4L/Vanauley Walk

GGG members have done hits for the mafia.

That's great bro, you're on the torontology sub-reddit. Mad props. But why do the rest of us have to put up with this shit?
The rest of us aren't putting up with it lol. I doubt it affects you at all. It doesn't affect me either.

I can't read reddit. There's enough stuff on video anyways.

You're right, my bad. Nobody gets hit by a stray bullet, ever. Let's just accept mass shootings by infantile crappers.

There's a lot of truth in what Mike Tyson says about people that go to jail.

Weak minds, cowards, dysfunctional, and high rate of homosexuality.

Think about what kind of man is willing to spend years of his life locked inside cells with other men 24/7.

Absolutely disgusting.

Yes so its a bunch of Somalis, the guy that got shot was in a wheelchair. Who becomes a gang banger on a wheelchair? Yahya Ahmed-Mohamoud
Jamaicans and Somalis are starting to beef with eachother. They are both known to be the gunmen in Toronto/GTA. Both groups are very untrustworthy in general.
