I'm not a fan of Bo hitting after Guerrero. I've never been a fan of how that looks. I'm starting to feel like Schneider is tweaking the lineup a little bit too much. I like Bichette hitting lead off.. and I like Barger hitting cleanup. Varsho hitting second in spring training looked really nice as well. I would be thrilled to see that happen when he comes back.

I agree. Clement is one of the best utility players in MLB and hits .400 against lefties and .300 over all. Better than Vlad

As Vlad can not play short or second Clement may be more valuable than Vlad.

An essential and unheralded job that requires a skill set few have

Is Barger a MVP ahead of Vlad? Why not? Gun for an arm. Great bat speed. Can play more positions, more homers than Vlad with a 100 less at bats and a better OPS. Barger is a natural. I love the way he lifts his front leg in the box and never swings too early or lose his balance

Clement is worthy of being in All Star game but they want big names who hit homers, not utility players or great defensive players. The All Star game is not a true All Star game IMHO.
Not a surprise as MLB wants ratings

Hoffman maybe by end of year but not yet IMHO

Consider this as Jays MVP list and Vlad is not in top 5

1 Springer
2 Kirk
3 Clement
4 Barger
5 Hoffman

well Vlad gets a lot of walks........I think that is a product of mis placed fear by opposing pitchers and one of these days that will abate

RIP Jim Clancy. Fond memories of watching him play in the early days of the Jays franchise. Like Dave Stieb, I always wondered how his career would have progressed if he was with a better team. I think Clancy and Damaso Garcia were the 2 most underrated Jays in team history.

Dave Steib was high strung, Jim Clancy was cool and self-depreciating. Before they got good, The Arson Squad dominated the headlines.

He pitched in an era that was not uncommon for pitchers to hurl many complete games, he had 74 complete games. He had a perfect game bid, it was broken up in the ninth by Randy Bush's broken bat single.

RIP Jim. Never the most talented hurler but a gutsy hard working innings eater. His best year was earlier on in his career - 1980. He did lead the AL in walks which inflated his WHIP, but he posted 3.30 ERA and had 15 complete games and 250 innings pitched.

Next cxoiuple of weeks means the whole shebang

Tough 10 game roadtrip then trade deadline

That we are a serious contender that will be buyers can fall apart with serious losing streak . We are now 1 and 3 over last four games against two of the worse teams in MLB

Over next ten games a split would be a victory

We could lose 8 easily then be 3 and 11 over last 14 games
and scraping for last WC and wondering if we should sell and fill up farm system with quality

--- I believe Jays pitchers haven't issued a walk in 18 consecutive innings.
--- 41000+ on Friday, 42000+ on Saturday. Nice!!!
-- Lauer is the new Francis.
--- Francis was the new Manoah(last year).

Lauer has better mechanics than Francis and Manoah.

Yankees fan becomes Jays convert. What he expresses at the beginning of the video is was Leafs fans endure perennially. This is refreshing lol.

He drinks Crown Royal...just like Mickey Mantle.

Very good start to post all star break. Guys are playing confident. Let's hope that continues vs. New York.

The Blue Jays are playing excellent baseball. They have the third best record in baseball. They have the best team batting average in the major leagues. They are accomplishing this without the Sandman who was their main off season signing. They have Alex Manoah hopefully coming back in late August which could be a big help down the stretch. My question is this: Did Shatkins just get lucky, or are these two much smarter than we thought? I await the learned thoughts of the more knowledgeable students of baseball. Phillip???

Are the Yankees going to get the scopa again?

Yankees fan is refreshing. Even when he's not hitting, is there another catcher who manages pitchers better than El Capitan.
