Point being he is happy to have tax exempted church status and for his own non profit, to pay his salary,this expenses, and tes, his family 's too, while extolling his self sufficient lifestyle.

Depends on the program. Local churches do a lot of good with a solid volunteer base. But realistically govts can scale up to meaningfully solve problems.

Similar to a militia means shit but a military can do a lot more.
