The border guard said that she could go . The other female guard said that she assaulted the guard . That's bull shit . That guard is a piece of shit . The more I see stuff like this the more I hate people with badges . It's getting to a point where I have no feelings when I see enforcement officers getting hurt in the field .People love to throw the "I know my rights" thing around at law enforcement, even if they don't actually know them, (and most of the time, they are wrong), so I think she escalated the situation on her own.
Yes, the agent said she could go. So instead of going, she decided to be a mouthpiece bitch to the officers. Yes, nothing wrong with people knowing their rights. Like I said, people quite often think they do when they don't. But as aardvark says, we only know part of this story. We don't see why she was stopped or pulled over, only her pulling out her camera phone and her mouth. The border guard said that she could go . Drive a couple of spikes into his or her backs and see how they like it.
Nothing wrong with knowing your rights . The cops give you a line of garbage when they don't even know the law themselves . I hope that guy's wife gets stopped by a peace officer and she gets a few spikes in her back .
was this a vehicle stop along the lines of the U.S. Supreme Court decision of a few weeks back holding that after a traffic stop has been completed, police cannot continue to detain a motorist while awaiting the arrival of a K-9 unit unless they have Probable Cause. .
So when do you stand up for your rights? Is it when they ask you to pee? Or a cavity search? What if the guy next to you reacts the way you're reacting now?"Fucking Retarded"......language Miss......you earned the spikes on that alone. To be serious, I'm getting sick of these videos of the righteous defender. If a cop stopped me and asked to look in the trunk.....sure... whatever will get me on my way the quickest officer.i pop it..he takes a look...closes it and i'm on my way.Worse case scenario she could have waited..recorded...saw they found nothing ..and filed a civil suit if she wished.
No, with trusty camera in hand she decided to wise ass a law enforcement agent because she thought she had a camera recording everything. He simply asked her to move....that's it...not drop her pants for a cavity search, or take a urine test.....just move to a certain area and she decided to push back.Congratulations miss, your videos up on Liveleaks, let me know when you get the feeling back in your legs .Dipshit.
We don't but the "reason" for the stop was she was within 100 miles of the U.S. Border. Her version of the reason she was detained was that they told her "she looked nervous."We don't see why she was stopped or pulled over, only her pulling out her camera phone and her mouth.
Ah, but this is another reason why this case may go up to higher courts if the government doesn't settle. Doesn't saying you're free to go but we're impounding your vehicle fly in the face of Rodriguez v. US? http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/14pdf/13-9972_p8k0.pdfWell, as the officer said, she was free to go, but her car wasn't.
Standing up for ones rights is not an issue if one does so respectfully. She was giving the "badges" attitude about not popping her trunk, that in and of itself, gave the "badges" probably cause for suspicion. The woman that got tased, has only herself to blame for escalating things. Its like she was ASKING for it. If she had nothing in her trunk, pop the hatch and show them... she would have been on her way in seconds.![]()
Because sometimes they are NOT just doing their jobs. Sometimes they are doing illegal things that violate their training and fly in the face of the jobs they have been given. Sometimes somebody needs to watch the watchmen. They're just doing their jobs after all. Any why film the whole thing unless you were planning on uploading a "LE brutality" video later on?
She was detained 100 miles from the border . Interesting . That means that a border guard can detain you when your pulling off the 401 on to a side street in Toronto . Really !!! Would any of you accept that .http://www.wwnytv.com/news/local/SLC-Woman-Tasered-By-Border-Agents-in-Confrontation-303073091.html
She admits to pushing the Border Agent after he pushed her - ( assault on a federal officer )
I agree but in this case the lady in question was only nervous . Nothing else . Many people get nervous talking to a person with a badge and a gun even if you have done nothing wrong . She was 100 miles from the border . What law was she breaking pertaining to persons or goods entering or leaving the US . Was she under suspicion , being watched . No . None of that . It was just a bitchy border lady who thought that she would make a name for herself and hold up the lady in question.Border agents have jurisdiction anywhere in Canada. If you land in Calgary they can stop and question and search you if they have suspicion that you are breaking Canadian Law pertaining to persons, or goods entering or exiting Canada. They also go on raids to locations all over Canada for goods or persons that have entered Canada illegally.
One of their biggest projects ongoing is dealing with theft rings which ship cars, as well as disassembled cars out of Montreal to third world countries. Apparently a huge activity areaBorder agents have jurisdiction anywhere in Canada.
