Those guys are fucking glorified mall cops... The Patriot Act gives them all sorts of bullshit powers that perhaps make sense when detaining a real live terrorist, but are just abusive otherwise. Of course this woman "looked nervous"... she was being hassled for no reason by these clowns.

I drive back and forth to Vermont quite often and roughly drive parallel to the border, but in the US, after crossing at Cornwall. There's a lot of these border patrol vehicles around, and often miles from the border. They outnumber the State Police many times over...
