Free room fees? That's like offering you 10 cents. Come on, get real.

From wiki: 2014–present: A new NBA dynasty. And you're asking how good are they?

Hey Rapguy, Dawg, Wonk et al :bolt: Raptors are in the NBA Finals! It's been a ride but I guess it takes a
two-four to get us over that hump :encouragement: or at least, a bunch of guys led by some guy they call Whi!! And, it ain't over yet. We are still playing ball this year in the Six in June. Been waiting a lllooooonnnngggggg time for this so let's enjoy.

LET'S GO RAPTORS !!!!
It has been a very long and often frustrating time. This is the Raptors time to shine, Win or lose as long as Kawahi stays Raps will be a power, but if he goes it is pretty much back to square 1!
If he stays Masai will pretty much have his pick of free agents to reinforce what is currently a pretty awesome team!
Beer is in the fridge and have loaded up on salty snacks, Thursday can't come soon enough!
GO RAPS!

Is Brett Lowrie still playing baseball? Not to be confused with Kyle Lowry.

A Spurs fan offered me best wishes after the Raptors clinched their Final spot. I gave him my regards and told him to be patient with Jakob Poeltl. If they develop him right he could become their Sheed - minus the temper.

So, we asked "Towel Girl" if she could get some tickets at a reasonable price for game 1 and/or game 2. Towel Girl said she can't get any tickets at any price.

Is anybody on the Board going to either game?

Lopez of Milwaukee is a free agent.... I'd like the Raps to grab him if they can. Gasol is a little too long in the tooth

I doubt the fan bases have much of an overlap. The Raptor fans are younger and darker (don't call me racist). So, maybe the Raptors have a brighter future. Many newer Canadians don't play hockey, they play soccer and basketball (and cricket and rugby) instead. Hockey is an expensive sport with the cost of equipment and ice time. One only need a ball to play soccer and basketball.
I for one am white and have loved hockey all my life ( hate the Bruins though) but I have developed a love for basketball as well, thanks to Vince Carter and others. I see the crowd at Jurassic Park as a great symbol of people of all races ( white, brown , black , Asians) coming together to support and celebrate our team and our multi-cultural city. It must really annoy the white nationalists!

Gasol has a massive player option for next year and wont likely see another team match it. I think he's here for next year.

So, you agree the Raptors fan base is younger and darker than the Leaf fan base. Not that there is anything wrong with it. Just a fact. Anything wrong with stating an objective fact? So, it would appear the Raptors have a greater potential to grow their fan base than the Leafs.

Here is another objective fact. The majority of NBA players are black. Or, is it a no no to state an obvious objective fact.

Any idea how to get tickets for game 1 and/or game 2 at a reasonable price?

Define reasonable! LOL don't think that word exists when shopping for playoff tickets in Toronto!
LOL! My friends and I are recent converts to basketball fans. So, we thought we would try to get tickets to at least one of the games. You're right. There are no tickets available at a reasonable price. Our best hope was "Towel Girl" but she told us no tickets available at any price.

BTW: "Towel Girl" is not her official job title. You can actually see 2-3 of them on the court passing the ball to the players during warm-up. During the game they hand towels to the players and mop the floor when there is a stoppage in play.

Beware! Police have issued a warning about buying tickets from private sellers. Many scams out there.

Some of those towel girls have pretty good credentials. I know one of them is a high school gym teacher in Mississauga. Can you believe she can get downtown for 7:00pm for all those home games? you'd think she'd be coaching a team, with games and practices going til 6 most nights?

Maybe The Walker's girl can get us tickets.

Karma's a bitch, LBJ must be feeling like Sam Kinison's tour guide in Hell. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with this story?

Kenny Smith is becoming a regular on Tim and Sid.

They just broke that story on the Lakers. The Rock looked like a meathead for going along with it. Kobe never had lunch with Heath Ledger....he was already DEAD when it supposedly happened.

In another sports thread, we were asked to name our favorite Toronto athletes. Borje Salming is still my No. 1, but Kawhi is getting very close.

The A Fish Called Wanda spoof had me ROTFLMHAO!

I found a pic of a Toronto Raptors "towel girl". I'll have to find a place on the site to post it.
