I hope you had some money on those picks.
I rarely gamble on sports, save for the odd office pool for bragging rights.

I used to gamble a few dollars years ago however for me, it took the joy out of watching the sport.

We have a Panthers Oilers Stanley Cup Final. While I'm far from being an Oilers fan (they may be my least favorite Canadian team) I will be cheering for them because of McDavid and Hyman. And because the Panthers have Matthew Tkachuk, who I despise with a passion. That being said my prediction is Florida in 6. Depth being the difference maker.

3 out of 4.

Next round:
Dallas over Edmonton in 5.
Rangers over Florida in 6.

P.S. I actually want Florida and Edmonton to win.
Wrong on both in this past round, but I'm glad.

Next round: Florida over the Oilers in 6.

Florida allowed only 200 goals in the regular season. Only Jets was better at 199.
Edmonton we all know is considered an offensive team so it's Defense vs Offense.
In the 4 games Vegas won last playoffs vs Panthers they pumped in 9, 7, 5, and 3 goals.

Did the 3 our of 4 include getting the number of games correct?

I know there are many superstitions people have in sports, but the one that irks me the most is when NHL teams refuse to touch the conference trophies. This week neither the Panthers nor the Oilers would touch the Prince of Wales trophy or the Clarence S. Campbell trophiy, respectively. These are very hard trophies to win and should be a source of pride. Almost every year recently both teams refuse to touch it. Welll guess what, one team will be right and one will be wrong just based on chance. Last year Florida didn't touch the Wales trophy, and how did that turn out for them? End of rant.

Last year Florida did touch it. They carried it proudly.

Thanks for the correction. My mistake. I thought I heard someone on the broadcast say they didn't, but I'm mistaken. I'm sure there were teams in the past that touched it and still won the Stanely Cup.

Probably more psychological. McD wore the same suit to the game the last few games. You know for sure he wasn't going to touch it. Florida was beat up last year by the time it was all said and done. Vegas did as much hitting if not more. I'm expecting Edmonton to dress Kane and Perry if they're healthy. Perry to counter to antics of Tkatchuk.

I certainly hope not. Then we are faced with the harsh reality of how shit the Jays are because this Oiler La La Land is over.

Reminds me of the Leafs in the early 1980's. Pat Hickey had a bit of a scoring streak and revealed he wore the same underwear until it ended.

Imagine being a poor Calgary Flames fan today. On the one hand, you have your mortal enemy, the hated Oilers. On the other hand, you have the Panthers who "stole" Keith Tkachuk from you. Unless the final is cancelled they won't be happy either way.
