Goldwax was a compilation label that licensed soul music from the original release labels. It was mostly out of Britain, but I think Martin Koppel distributed it in Canada.

I almost like this more than Pillow Talk. Sylvia of course was the co-founder and CEO of Sugar Hill Records, the first rap label. She signed Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Treacherous Three, Funky 4+1, Spoonie G etc. I consider her to be one of the most important black music contributors of all time. back in the day, i was telling everyone who would listen that Mandy by Barry Manilow was not an original song...met with skepticism, so i just shrugged my shoulders and said to myself,,,oh well i tried ..lol..Brandy was one of my favorite songs from its era.
