charging him is a bit excessive, no?
No…..
He’s using our tax dollars to make a commission on a real estate sale. Not to mention if he’s showing a home and there comes a call about a crime taking place around the corner, you think he’s going to leave his clients to perform his duties?
He should be charged and fired.

Any other employer would do the right thing and get rid of him. Alas, this is the "public service"...

they only caught this one officer. with over 10 000 officers in the gta there is at least 100 licensed realtors and he's definitely not the only one working as realtor in some capacity while on the job. not to mention firemen too are involved in many other side gigs including coin operated machines, construction and various sales jobs, and many take calls and go on appointments on our dime. its rampant. Not long age teachers were buying designer bags and sunglasses on their health plans. it was exposed but not a single teacher was charged with fraud. around the same time TTC employees were caught defrauding their health plan as well. I believe there was a few that were singled out and penalized somehow. I imagine the TTC wanted to get those employees for something and this was their chance otherwise these are easy crimes to prove. the public sector is just untouchable most of the time.

In order to register as a Realtor they need to have no other job

In the case of police etc it requires employer to sign off there is no conflict of interest (eg by working while on job)

I think he's full of shit again but I'm not 100%. I do however know quite a few agents who are working full-time elsewhere and get their real estate license working it on a partime basis.

They are constantly hounding me and it gets annoying. I've used my girl now for 5 years and until she gives me a reason to fire her and switch, I'll remain loyal.

He would be fired for sure from the private sector.

Now he gets to sell house and still get paid by the police department.

I call BS. I know plenty of part time realtors with other jobs. Do you have a link to back this up? If so, I will stand corrected.

Where did you find this out? I know and have know many realtors in my line of work that also have other jobs and are in good standing with licensing bodies. I'm honestly curious about this? There are many that practice real estate on the side.

You truncated what I typed lol

I had said no other jobs unless employer is cool with it and there is no obvious bias or conflict of interest
Try reading BOTH sentences next time instead of clipping what you feel like

I did no such thing. I hit "reply with quote" and so did Jenesis.

If he was working as a realtor while on duty that's fraud, hence the criminal charge. I'd rather they just can his ass we don't need dishonest people like that on the police force.
