I'm not sure if the ACC has a Scotiabank ATM as I haven't been there in years but I seen rihanna and kesha there when I was fifteen and it was absolutely amazing!

It does not matter if they do or not LOL. The thread was supposed to be about what people think of the name change :| not about money or whether or not the ACC has a Scotiabank atm...

For $800 million they should also erect a statue to the man or woman who signs the $800 million cheque.

IMO, better that people display their tribalism and need for competition in a controlled environment.

And through sports I learned a ton about teamwork, critical thinking, balance, following rules, and a bunch more.

I'm no longer much of a team sports fan but recognize the wisdom in your post. Good post.

You're right, I am a negative person to some extent. The way society is nowadays and our useless fucking Gov't, has made me this way.
You are in control of your own happiness. We all live in this society. It is your outlook that made you the way you are. You live in one of the best countries in the world, you can get as fat as a fucking pig at the All You Can Eat Buffet and "the government" will pay for your obesity related health care and even buy you a scooter to get your fat ass to the buffet and to buy more Coke.

And yet, there are billions of people in this world who have a positive, happy outlook on their life who live under oppressive dictatorships, who have no access to medical care, who live in countries where there is no more than basic sustenance to live on, who are sleeping in ramshackle huts in crime infested slums who bathe in putrid rivers... who wake up happier than you.

There is something to be learned in this.

sorry to interrupt your little heart to hear but uhm can we please get back to what this thread was supposed to be about. Yes there are positive and negative people out there, yes there is rich and poor countries but that's not what this was about.. What are your opinions on the name change of the ACC ? It will take getting used to saying Scotiabank Arena instead of the "The ACC". I have been there many times for basketball and hockey games and numerous concerts. The name change means nothing to me. But for MLSE, it means $40 million/year which is a huge amount of money but putting it into perspective, the yearly naming rights of $40 million isn't even enough to pay DeRozen and Lowry's salary for one year. How sick is that? Branding with sports teams is huge in today's sports world and Scotiabank is joining the parade at the perfect time due to the Leafs quick resurgence and the Raptors recent continued successes (but damn Cleveland, lol). $40 million/year is a lot of money but compared to Scotiabank's annual profits of approx $2 billion, it is An expense they are clearly comfortable in making.

$40 million could pay 500 employees making $80,000 per for one year.
Or approx 4 years of Scotiabank's CEO's total pay package. Plus now, he probably gets the best box in the arena.

I still call the ball stadium The Skydome and maybe I'll start calling the ACC Mable Leafs Gardens II, just to piss off the corporate swine.

lol hahaha. some good points there . To me the ACC is will always be the ACC . They can change it to whatever they want but just like the skydome ( Roger's Centre) people will always call it the skydome
