Somewhere, there is a shitload of gazebos.

Of course, the conservatives should be proud of spending $9 billion to defend us from a bunch of kids in Oakville and a couple of angry Palestinians.
That is the total record of terrorists arrested for the $9 billion, isn't it?

Almost never has money like this been embezzled, or misused, rather with modern computerized accounting etc. . . all it takes is something being mislabeled and "poof it magically disappears from view." Then months or years latter it "magically" is found again right where it has been all along.

Boy is the shitting the fan, the 3.1 billion dollars is only the tip of the iceberg, were talking the AG ripping into the tories over 29 billion in tax havens, that search and rescue is dangerously unfunded, and so on. Head will fucking roll for this. Except Peter McKay's although honestly the man is one of Harper biggest albatrosses. Seriously he's a walking scandal for the Tories, but his PC legacy shields him, for now although even that wing of the Tories has to be getting fed up with his fuck ups.

As if all of this wasn't brillant enough news for Thomas Mulcair, Justin the Tool, ignored the vast feast set before him to focus on NDP leftovers, the tarriff issue. Which he already address and lets be honest there isn't much left to be said on the topic at this point.

So as one sees in John's artical Justin is left looking like an amatuer while Mulcair dines on one of the greatest political feasts since the PBO bitch smacked Harper over the F-35s. Maybe since Sponsorgate and the Liberals.

Its no accident John who honestly leans to the right called the NDP the government in waiting, it was thinly veiled contempt for Justin not seizing the moment.

If the Auditor General isn't particularly excited over the $3.1 billion (over 9 years, from 2001 through 2009) then I have a hard time getting overly excited about it either.

Who knows? Maybe some James Bond type forgot to turn in his receipts while Chretien was in power? Security agencies are notorious for hiding exactly how much they spend on individual programs and items. That the AG can't trace it all isn't really a surprise. I'd actually worry more if the numbers did all add up - it would suggest that the receipts were fake.

Pffff it's only the entire annual income tax collected from several thousand hard working Canadians, for nine years in a row, so who cares?

OPM.

Do you honestly think the public being okay with 3.1 billion disappearing?

If this was an NDP government you guys would be singing a very different tune.
It wouldn't disappear with the NDP, it would be openly spent.

I don't understand how this is a Conservative issue (I do understand they can't manage money, but just in this specific case). The spending was from 2001 - 2009:
2001 - 2003 - Chrétien (Lib)
2003 - 2006 - Martin (Lib)
2006 - 2009 - Harper

After 2009 Harper and gazebo Clemente changed the rules so there is now no reporting of these expenses.
So $3.1 billion is missing from the Harper era before 2009, but we have no idea how much or where the money is going since then.

IF the story is adequately explained by the press they won't be in a panic about it.

Again, exceedingly rare is money like this actually having been stolen or embezzled almost always it is right there but due to accounting errors has become "invisible."

So just like the border security money that was used for gazebos and sidewalks in the boss's riding, this is nothing to worry about?

So that's where the money for those omnipresent Economic Action Plan commercials is coming from.

You do realize every and I do mean every government does this right?
but the conservative said they were better than the rest, apparently not. Not only did the most of the electorate believe them the first time, they believed them twice. How does that saying go, fool me once, same on you fool me twice .......... you know. Unless you're George Bush.
