Anna Nicole Smith
I do not accept the assertion (or assumption) that all males or all females are shallow, superficial and self-centered. Love, erotica, intimacy and attraction are all complicated mysteries that even the wisest of sages or the laws of relativity cannot totally explain.
I do know that there are some vicious people out there and unfortunately some of them post on this board. I don't doubt for a moment that ANS was motivated by her desire to be taken care of financially when she decided to marry her 89-year-old husband. I do believe however that she appreciated him and that she did it for her son. As for her detractors who claim it doesn't take 88 million dollars to raise a child, I say "bah!!!" It always amazes me that people who aren't parents or in this case single parents claim that raising a child is so easy, so effortless. It's sort of like those hypocrits in the pro-life movement who are so concerned about a fetus not being aborted but disappear when the child is born. Unless you've been there, raised a child on your own or walked in her footsteps, don't judge....
I still maintain that ANS is a beautiful woman. There are many people who are attracted a Rubenesque figure. On top of that she has a beautiful face, hair and mischevious attitude. In spite of her upbringing in the humbler of classes (something she obviously didn't choose but was born into), who the hell cares. I don't think that she should be blamed for who or where she was born to and I don't think that it's equitable to claim she's white trash. She's a person like you or me.
I do this argument/thread is misoygnistic for the most part and a an example of vindictive envy on the part of most. She went out there in the world, through luck and good looks was able to marry someone who left her millions of dollars. No matter how you slice it, this is what the man wanted to do with his money and she's on the receiving end. I, for one, say good for you. If she chooses to do good works with the money then that would be great, too, but that's up to her to decide.
