Haven't got a fucken clue who this dude is, however, Rosie has fantasized about all of these women at one time or another, individually, and in a group dynamic!
These are some truly beautiful, intelligent, sexy women that will be severly missed from Citytv!
Tell you what, Rosie's been less inclined to watch that station ever since Roger's came in a FUCK'D everythang up good an proper.

Listen to what Rosie's saying now, and figure Rosie out later: IT WILL BE WORLD WAR 6 IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO NALINI SHARMA!!!!
Rosie will dig up the "dead Ted Roger's" and KICK HIS ASS UNTIL HE'S DEAD.....AGAIN....if anything happens to her!

Rosie PISSED!!!
Rosie i 2nd you in your tirade against Rogers, if they ever touch our Toronto Weather girl Nalini Sharma, i would boycott their channel for good, if they laid off any of favourite TV Anchors from their jobs Lol

At least they left Kathryn Humphreys - she's cute and bubly
r

She is about to turn 40 and would soon follow the path of Anne and Laura.
It won't help even if she can act like a bubbly home-girl. I won't mind getting
an airheaded bimbo as her replacement as long as she is eye candy material.

Cable TV has become an atrocity; de-activating channels, non-stop digital breaks and gray screens galore. Rogers is telling us that well will take their swill whether we like it or now. These newscast culls is all about presenting a generic product, no one is allowed to be different. It's sad when journalists of obvious talent are let go while the air-heads remain.

As for those of you who are Nelini Sharma fans, you must be tone deaf. If they used her nattering voice to torture inmates at Gitmo, Al-Qaedah would cease to exist.

I suspect they've figured out that the escalation of salaries over the years isn't worth it. They can replace them with younger hotter chicks who will work for peanuts just to get their foot in the door. And save a bundle of cash in the process.

- Moses Znaimer co-founded CITY with several others. The station was heavily in debt (as most TV stations are) and they sold their interest in the 1970s. CHUM (owned by the Waters family) later came in and bought them. Znaimer was just another employee who happened to be their front face.

- CITY has been losing money for a long time (a million here, a million there) and only a handful of shows were ever rating toppers. BT is their moneymaker, but the News at 6 pm has been 3rd or 4th in the ratings for years. The difference is that Znaimer was smart to make the station's hosts and news reporters recognizable faces in the community, thus building cache and recognition in the city.

- CHUM hired family, extended family and friends of family to work at CITY. Nevermind that many didn't have experience in the television or radio industries, it was a family business and that's who they hired.

- Reporters didn't choose to go to CITY/Rogers or CP24/CTV. Before the sale and split, reporters were hired for a specific station and that's where they stayed after CTV and Rogers came in.

- Rogers won't be hiring new, younger, cheaper staff at CITY. CITY is running on skeleton crew right now. No sick days allowed or a show won't be able to air. That's how thin things are. Rogers has never owned or run a TV station before, and their lack of experience is showing.

- Rogers has been laying off staff at all their divisions. It's been about 30% across the board, so at least they're consistent. CITY is just more well known, but their finance/accounting dept, home phone, call centres -- huge layoffs at Rogers have gone on the past year.

As long as they keep my avourite girl, Jennifer Valentyne. If they ever let her go it will be the last time I tune into CityTV.
I've been watching this station for years. I still have a prize I won on the news test way back when it was channel 79.
I remember all the old newscasters..... Dini Petty, Debbie Van Kiekabelt, Jojo Chintoh, Bill Cameron, JD Roberts, and that anchorman from way back Gord Martineau.

Sounds like a man on the inside here.

Years ago (like 15 years ago) I did some work for Rogers. They were a snake pit even back then to work for. Constantly laying off people and working the shit out of what staff they did have.

It was not a nice place to be then, and it sounds like nothing has changed.

Typical redneck shithole canuck company.
Never work for ghostpeople a.k.a wh***trash..they have no heart at all.
And they're stupid as fuck to boot.
I'm really glad I chucked their asses when they had the temerity to charge me 2.00/month for CNBC service some months back.

They've done away with the weekend news, and it seems the weekday noon and 5pm editions...so all that's left is weekdays with Gord at 6pm, and Mark at 11pm.

Excellent analogy Footsniffer, I used it in the sports section to describe MLSE.

Rogers is spending $260 million for the rights to broadcast the Vancouver Olympics. The Olympic Games have traditionally been a financial black hole at all levels. Rogers cannot re-coup this money by advertising alone - so guess who's footing the bill.

- The layoffs were all money-related. It wasn't about favourite reporters or staff. The people let go either had high salaries or less years ( 15 or less ) of experience. The accountants looked at the numbers and slashed them.

- Rogers has no desire to produce original content. They want all their channels to broadcast purchased content because the salespeople can sell established shows to advertisers.

What would constitute "Higher Salaries"

I would think that Martineau would be the highest paid of all the talking heads on City TV news. I'm curious what a guy like him would be pulling in vs. say Anne Mroczkowski or Lara Dibatista, or Pam Seetle.
