Great thread btw ...
The only thing I'll ever regret is not fulfilling some dreams before I die ... I want to experience them all.
Of course, any behavior that becomes pathological can become a problem. Sex, eating, gambling, drugs, whatever. But that is a sign of some underlying psychological/emotional issues that need to be worked through. But as long as the hobby is under control, and not causing harmful, criminal, anti-social or psychotic behavior, then what's to regret? Even then, if it forces you to confront those underlying issues, and you become a better person because of it, who's to say it wasn't worth it in the end?
To me, life is about experiencing everything life has to offer. And yes, you have to be prepared to take risks and accept the good with the bad. Sometimes you make questionable choices and mistakes -- serious ones with serious consequences. But even those are not wasted. You learn, you grow, you move on to the next experience. What's the alternative? To do nothing you might conceivably regret?
So ... short answer ... no regrets.
