Ah, those were the daysHere is the other side of the coin. Can your employer fire you if they discover you are an SP on your own time and off company premises? Some companies feel that your behaviour 24/7 reflects on the company itself. Remember when Minister Coates got fired because he was seen outside a German SC?
He could try but I doubt it would work. Even if you won, you'd lose because everyone and his dog would know about you and you'd have to try another career change, but you might win.A smart lawyer will find a Charter argument here.
That is not a moral issue it helps keep the workplace amicableIn some companies there is a strict policy forbidding sleeping with the boss or even a fellow consenting co-worker.
My memory is a bit hazy but I thought that there was a recent case in Quebec where a grade school teacher got fired because he had a criminal record (it was either murder or manslaughter). (No, no sex involved.) With the backing of his union, he sued and won and the school had to rehire him.Even if you won, you'd lose because everyone and his dog would know about you and you'd have to try another career change, but you might win.
Hey Rock, I know a few dancers who have "day jobs" and they are always concerned that their employer might find out about their night job. Dancers are exposed because any Tom, Dick and Harry can walk into an SC and see them dancing naked on stage. Here is the other side of the coin. Can your employer fire you if they discover you are an SP on your own time and off company premises?
actually, not to rain on your parade but that isn't always safe. The world is NOT as big as it once was....Nope, It's very unlikely that I would get caught because I hobby out of the city. Far from my boss, family, and friends. I'm not stupid or careless and I know how to cover my tracks.
it better be stealing millions from your employer to finance the habitWhether it be from being caught by LE during an incall raid, or someone finding out that you hobby and reporting it to your boss, or whatever.
There is no such thing as totaly without the risk of being outed. That said: Don't hobby at "home," don't patronize incall establishments, be careful what you do and say - you don't have to be rude then again you don't have to tell everything, while you are in a high appointed or elected position - give the hobby a rest, if you know the firm you work for has a real problem with the hobby while other firms do not perhaps you should shift jobs.Anyone worry about losing their job from hobbying.

I travelled extensively for business not that long ago and I can't tell you how many people I ran into that I knew, knew me, or knew someone I knew.
You know that saying? what happens in vegas stays in vegas?
How can that happen if there's live webcams all over the place. I know of one at the pool at the hard rock hotel........
Or using company laptops which likewise boggles the mind.I have heard of hobbyists using their company phone to book appointments with escorts which boggles my mind.
Great point...likely it would be because they hobby themselves or are in the business part-time---hardly likely to out you in either case!! (if we are talking about real hobbying not SC attendance--that I have actually done WITH a boss in the past)...so you bump into a coworker coming out of MP or an incall--yup the next thing they are going to do is go back to work and spread the word---yeah not hardly likely...(1) Under what circumstances would your fellow co-workers or your boss ever find out you are hobbying?

This is Canada not the U.SWhether it be from being caught by LE during an incall raid, or someone finding out that you hobby and reporting it to your boss, or whatever.
