Currently in Thailand. Zero debt and retired.
I was staying at a dorm style Airbnb because I'm frugal and don't need much. Saw lots of young men who had a job(roofing, retail, etc) and we're paying 700 a month to live in bunk beds with 4 other guys in a room. The Airbnb was making a killing but I question the direction of our country if a young man who is working has to rent bunk beds with 4 other guys. That's fucked up.
I usually don't give a shit about most people but after being around these guys and getting to know them I began to empathize with their plight.
I don't know the circumstances of their lives but that experience stuck with me. Grinding just to barely live.
