Currently in Thailand. Zero debt and retired.

I was staying at a dorm style Airbnb because I'm frugal and don't need much. Saw lots of young men who had a job(roofing, retail, etc) and we're paying 700 a month to live in bunk beds with 4 other guys in a room. The Airbnb was making a killing but I question the direction of our country if a young man who is working has to rent bunk beds with 4 other guys. That's fucked up.

I usually don't give a shit about most people but after being around these guys and getting to know them I began to empathize with their plight.

I don't know the circumstances of their lives but that experience stuck with me. Grinding just to barely live.

Rapid population increase due to mass immigration is one of the biggest reasons. More population = more demand. It means service levels can decline and prices go up and they will still sell because there are just way more people. It is affecting all aspects of our lives from rents to food. OF is a big part of this also.

I am in a similar boat. I have to decide between buying some cool tech devices and gadgets I like vs spending on an hour where the experience may be mixed. In recent years I have gone with buying some shiny toys for me instead. I do have eyes on few well reviewed ladies but they are far from my place and as everyone mentioned driving in traffic is something I absolutely don't feel like doing.
