I bought some credits years ago on it mostly out of curiousity to see how the deal worked. I'll explain. The site consists of a bout 5000 dudes in your area and 30 chicks willing to have flings. Almost none of the chicks have paid accounts so you'll also pay when they write you email (5 credits). So you pay to talk to them AND for them to talk to you. And you're competiting with 5000 dudes all looking for the same thing.
Translation: It's a waste of time and money.
Affairs just seem to have so much potential to get messy. They seem successful and legit, so what's the risk in taking a look at it? Good luck!
