That's what I thought. Thank you for the confirmation. Their attitude and rhetoric is very much in keeping with Canadian born girls of Anglo-Saxon ethnicity. I never suspected there was a divide or misunderstanding within your dialogue. It just proves further to the point made about Canadian women.
When I was assigned to an eastern European country I won't name, a dirt poor one, about 10 years ago for nearly a year, the 20 year old ultra-hot local hires we employed explained it like this: they could marry the cute boy they go to school with, who has hard abs and cool hair and maybe knows how to dance, but that is taking a huge gamble. What if he turns out to be poor? Their kids would not have much hope for success if the boy wound up as a brick layer or a truck driver or a farmhand or even unemployed (remember, this is not Canada. In the armpit of eastern Europe those aren't unionized jobs that let a guy have a nice house and a boat and holidays and all the things and quality-of-life Canadian blue-collar workers can buy with their wages). Or, they could marry a reasonably attractive 40-something guy, already knowing what his income is, what kind of house he will give them, what kind of car he drives, if he turned out to be a drunk or if he is violent or fugly etc. They can look at him and his life, see how he turned out, and say "my kids can be living that life in a couple of years if I marry this guy now and start a family with him". So they married older guys. Win-win, even though it is a win based on a desire to escape poverty. My experiences in Western Europe have been similar, although not nearly as extreme. Women there are more open about why they will date one man and not another, and quite often (most often?) it is related to income, temperament, and yes looks of course, even if the age disparity thing isn't as extreme as in the east.

So in the case of the Eastern Euro girls, its hunger that drives them to seek the male who has already proved he is alpha by being successful in his life. What makes a guy alpha at 20, is less important at 40. These girls seemed to know that more intuitively, or at a younger age anyhow, than our own lovelies do. In Canada, very few women worry about such basic needs. They may "marry up", but they are still marrying up from a position of relative comfort and security. They aren't marrying for food!! So they can be picky, and they can date the cute boy. Even if his coolness fades over time because he became a truck driver instead of a dentist, he will be able to afford a house and holidays in Mexico etc. So why fuck some icky old dentist when she can fuck the hot guy the same age as her?
No, they aren't all wired like that, and the example is a bit extreme, just to show the point. But the ones in the OP's story, clearly they are wired like that. They don't care about your money, because the 21 year old guy on the other side of them has enough money to meet their wants anyhow.
