What happened to Salming (and Hunter and Gehrig) is larger than hockey. It is larger than sports. It is about the randomness of life. It is about not sweating the small stuff. Deep thinking, I know.

No mention of his cocaine use?

I sure wish someone would interview Inge Hammerstrom. It would be interesting to hear his thoughts and reminiscences.

Grateful he came back to Toronto one last time. We loved him as much as he loved us. He lost his voice but still said he was ’thinking of us’. You always gave such a great effort with a “will“ greater than your immense “skills”.

Which can be said about almost every thread on TERB, i.e., it is not as important as the randomness of life. It still does not make your post about your dead friend any more relevant to Borje Salming.

Deep rebuttal, I know.

We all know Salming was a great defenseman, possibly the best in Leaf history. No need for me to state the obvious. Maybe one of the usual suspects can post a pic of Captain Obvious.

Anyway, thought I would get a little philosophical and mention that one never knows the randomness of life. Of course, the usual suspect than goes on a childish rant to once again demonstrate his immaturity.

Definitely a sad day with the passing of this great hockey player and man. Remember watching him play for years with Toronto. One of the greats that will always be remembered. He was was able to pass on his own terms.
God bless his family, but know he is hurting any more and is at peace.

In that case, if you have nothing to contribute to the topic at hand, say nothing instead of making a post that hijacks the thread.

As David Byrne wrote in the song Psycho Killer,

"When I have nothing to say
My lips are sealed"

BTW, you keep digging deeper.

BTW #2, by your logic, everybody in this thread who praised him is a Captain Obvious, not just me. Correct?

Thanks for that contribution to the thread. He touched many of us, here.

Hey Darts, here's another poster that you can call Captain Obvious.

I have no issue with anyone posting the obvious and I have never posted any Captain Obvious pics (I leave that to the immature). Instead, I decided to mention in the case of Salming (and Hunter, Gehrig and my late friend) that one never knows the randomness of life.

Age 71 is not that old and ALS is relatively rare, such is the randomness of life. Why Salming?
